Difference between Type S Auto vs Manual Steering wheel

I know the Type S Auto steering wheel has a paddle shift but can we use this Auto one on the Manual Type S one IF WE REMOVE the paddle shifter? I guess the question is are these paddle shift can be removed ? or these paddle shift are built in on the steering wheel ? Now I only talk about the 07 and 08 Type S Steering wheel here.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure that you can use the steering wheel from the auto in the manual car. As you stated, the paddle shifters will have no function and therefore should be removed (along with their associated cables). In addition, there will be no connectors for the paddle shifter cables inside your auto steering wheel behind the airbag. Someone correct me if my info is wrong

well I'm afraid if I remove the paddle shifters then there will be a hole there ? Not sure if I can use the Manual cover one to cover that .....

Yes, you can use the manual back cover and eliminate the holes.

Completely agree with this. Using the back of the manual-equipped steering wheel will give you a clean look, and all electronics should work properly

I replaced my Manual steering wheel with an Automatic one.
The only difference was removing the paddle shifter and swapping the back covers to cover the hole. All easy and plug and play. The steering wheel needed some banging to get it out.
