dark carpet also shows more lint and stuff. but to each their own. If you want dark carpet, then go for it.. But I don't have black carpet in my house either. haha I have had cars with dark carpet and some didn't have lights in the foot area. So even at night if you turned the lights on, often I would just have to feel around for whatever I was looking for. So, dark carpet and no lights at the foot area, its not a problem.. duh.. but when I got this lighter color carpet it was just more convenient. And it looks more plush in my opinion.
