I just got a "special offer" letter indicating a special invitation-only sales event in which Acura claims that they will buy back my TL (2005) because of the "shortage of quality pre-owned" luxury vehicles. "Incredible incentives" will given at "never before offered terms" if I upgrade to a 2008 Acura.

I would probably seriously consider this if I didn't still have money to owe. Then again, I have no idea what those terms are...

Then again, come to think of it, this is clearly a ploy to gut their oversupply of 2008 vehicles, and also get some older TLs that have held up their value quite well (which they will resell at an arm and a leg).

Anyone else get this "special offer" letter?

 

um.. i get one once a month and emails, and damnit... Rallye Acura keeps calling my house phone like once a week !!

they're just trying to get you in to buy a new car.... sure, they'll give you a good deal.... but they might only give you GALS wholesale value for your car, or something like that

 

i dont receive any special offers that you speak of. weird.

 

maybe its your age'--the target group is 25-50 and has an believed income of xxxx...

I just received a letter and an invitation at my local dealership (Rallye Acura) for a chance to win a brand new 09 TSX. The event starts thursday, 24th - 26th. Also, it states on the letter that all vehicles are being offer 1.3% over invoice. Maybe people in the new york area should check it out if they are interested in buying an acura.

 

if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

 

They're not getting my '07 Type S for that nasty looking 2009 TL, RL, TSX.

 

I haven't recieved any letters, but they call me once a week. My fault for giving them my #.

 

i told them unless they are giving me a free car dont call. mail is enuff.

I used to get these offers all the time for the "'extreme demand" for my 97 expedition. Nevermind that it was 2004-05 when the "demand" surfaced.

HAHA I recieved almost an identical letter from Mitsubishi about my 1991 Dodge Stealth that I took to them for service. The funniest part about it was that they also stated a "shortage of quality pre-owned luxury vehicles" but my car was a piece of shit!!

 

since we are all part of the Acura community, let me spread a little bit of knowledge. The economy is sucking ass right now. I myself work in a car dealership (kings Plaza jeep & Chrysler). We are also doing that "promotion". All it is, is to bring more traffic to car dealers showroom and the managers could work out a number for you that WILL be higher

Yeah, I'm sure my TL and Highlander are in such demand that we current owners need to be coaxed into selling them back to dealerships to save the world.

 

Mine spent all of two seconds in my hand before it went in the trash.
