Did I pay too much for a replacement Tranny?
Hi, recently I had my transmission replaced by an Acura dealer. They charged me $2600 to replace this and this is with the help of Acura paying 20% of the cost. Anyone else have their transmission replaced recently?
I had 95,000 miles on my 04 TL, I changed the transmission oil and filter 2x and had a flush 1x.

Mileage is stated in my post...95,000 miles when tranny went out. Basically I was driving on the freeway and the tranny starts to both up shift and down shift sporadically. I pulled off and tried to start it back up but it wouldnt hold in gear, reverse or drive did not work. It did move a little after many attempts but it was around 20 feet or so.

i work for AHM, and $2600 for the cost of replacement tranny for an Acura TL is ridiculous. Ridiculously cheap.. I've seen customers get charged 4-5 for just the tranny replace.
Whats the name of the dealership you went to? It might help if you posted the dealership so that other people can go if they have problems.

acura of valley stream changed my transmission at 33,000 miles because it died out on my TL and it was done under warranty, when i checked the order report and reciept they put that the tranny replacement was $2500 in parts and labor covered by acura so i would say $2600 to replace it is not a bad number.

nope...powertrain warranty covers the tranny...which is 4 years/50,000 miles unless you have an extended warranty then i think theres a $100 deductible or something like that.

I'm knocking on wood hoping my tranny doesn't go
That price seems pretty fair. My tranny in my 01 CL-S went out at 96k and it was covered under warranty. The quoted me at close to $2900 if it hadn't of been covered
