Did I pay to much?

Quick question for all those TL genuises. I purchased my TL about a week ago. I'm out of Chicago, ILL. I got a Black Pearl with Black interior Auto/Nav. I also got the complete body kit along with the spoiler. Out the door I payed 39,000. After reading all your threads, I was hoping I still got a good deal. I had to bargain my ass off to even get that price. I went to 3 different dealers. Some dealers had 3 weeks or longer wait period for that combo. Let me know your opinions. By the way, I LOVE MY TL. Thanks

wow 39K out the door!! I got everything you got except the navi, but plus body side moldings and moonroof visor and my price was 32,946 out the door. Unless navi is worth 6K, i dunno, i think that is a lot!!

NBP/Ebony/Auto/Navi/body kits/spoiler for $39k, including tax, fee, others. What's is tax rate in IL?

Maybe your price is not the best, but it seems good to me if you pay more than 8% of tax... at this time... you probably pay $34k for everything plus 2k body kits/spoiler, right?

Think about this way, tons of ppl here paying MSRP, do you hear them saying "paying too much"?

I wouldn't ask...

If you're happy, then you didn't pay too much. These 'after the purchase' type questions can only lead to misery, because you can bet someone is going to post that 'you got screwed' just for kicks. Sorry, I know that doesn't answer the question you asked. Just my .02.

Welcome and enjoy your car!

Dude, we need the breakdown to answer this question. Did you have a trade and if so were you upside down? What's your tax rate, etc? Break it down for us.

Well, i believe tax in Ill. for new cars right now is 7.85. I did not have a trade in. And I tried calling every single dealership in ILL. to see if they can do a better price. Any other thoughts?

If you bought it already, then don't worry if you paid too much cause you'll just stress yourself out. Enjoy the car I got the same combo, I'm picking it up June 2nd. I didn't get the body kit or spoiler cuase the dealer wouldn't budge on price and I paid $35,600 out the door with navi. I am getting the body kit and spoiler installed somewhere else and buying the parts from the Custom Car Creations website, which sells authentic acura parts. Enjoy your car, can't wait to get mine.

I don't know if it's out yet, but if the kit you got is the A-spec kit, which can run about 6K, then maybe the price is right...

it doesn't seem all that unreasonable to me. MSRP is 35,100. The body kit + spoiler is $1500, not including anything for installation. Tax on that is almost $2900, plus a few hundred for motor vehicle fees comes to about $39,800.

So you got close to $1000 off MSRP, which isn't great but you're not being ripped off either - i know there are plenty of people on here who paid MSRP for a TL w/navi.

This continues to make me laugh. Do YOU feel the car is worth the money? If so...you got a good deal. Don't worry about what others pay. You bought it so obviously you felt good about it right? Enjoy it and stop worrying!

That famous phase again... OUT THE DOOR... To some it means their sales price. To the more educated it means sales price + taxes + tag + fees... It SOOO fanwy seeing guys coming on here claiming to have sub $34K NAVI "OUT THE DOOR" purchases. You guys are just too much!

Its possible to get it below 34k without Navi, if you actually read DopeTLo4, the only person on this this thread to say he got it out the door for less than 34k-he said without Navi- that would mean to the educated NO NAVI ;-)

I think you could have gotten a cheaper out the door price, i have a 6MT with navi, and got mine for 36K out the door, if you added underbody and wing spoilers, you should have been able to get it for 37K - 38K out the door.... then again demand has gone up... so its not too far off, i'm just sayin, you might have been able to get it cheaper

Hey if it makes you feel any better, I paid $40,100 out the door in California here in the Bay Area. And I don't even have the body kit like you got. I only got a decklid spoiler put on. and other differences with mine is I have a 6MT & HP Tires though and the 7 year / 75k miles extended warranty. (I'm about to cancel this and get back $1080) ..So obviously I paid full MSRP. and taxes I think are 8+% here.. I can't remember..

I know I paid more than anybody on all these Acura forums. I've been searching high and low to find anybody that got as much or less than me for what they paid. Nobody comes close. So feel good about it and don't worry about it! I'm trying not to let it get to me as I've argued with 5 dealerships in California to give me a better price than MSRP and they would NOT do it. And I spent every penny I owned to pay for this car. I'm compeltely dry now. So I'm trying to save money again.. will be harder now since I'm paying more insurance, etc.. Only one dealership had this one car on their lot with my desired specs, and I drove 50 miles to go pick it up. I said the hell with spending countless hours trying to negotiate with them. I don't know how everybody else does it. I spent 2 hours trying to get them to throw in the decklid spoiler.. They acted like they got screwed by throwing that in; was all ridiculous.. I love the car though so everytime somebody asks me how much I paid for it. I tell them don't ask and I don't wanna think about it.

I just think other states besides California are lucky (this excuse makes me feel better; so don't ruin it!)

chazy777, may we know when you got your car?

If you try to compare with those early built 04TL owners, you're never alone...

39K out the door would be a lil high in the Tri state area. I got mines for low 35K out the door with the tire/rim 5 year warranty without the body kit and the spoiler. But remember my tax rate is 6%

Remember it isn't always possible to get a low rate in your area. I had to drive over 2 hours from central PA to new jersey to get that price. Over here they LAUGHED at me when I mentioned anything more than 500 off of MSRP (this was with 5 dealers within 1 hour drive). Like everyoen said, if your a.) happy and b.) could afford it (obviously you could or else you shouldn't of signed) then you should be happy. Someone else will always get a better deal than you..that's life.

You could've gotten a TL, with nav, bodykit, and spoiler for 33-34K - including taxes and fees? That's either a really good deal, or "out the door" means something different in TX? Haha...

Seems your itching to crap in newbie cereal. How much did you pay, "out the door", for your TL? Don't answer, because you don't have one yet. Instead, let's revisit your first post: http://www.acura-tl.com/forums/showthread.php?p=799542

Interesting that no one crapped on you for asking... :smackhead
