Depends what dealership, Some dealerships know what they are doing. Some hire kids to work on your car.

Dont do it. They scratche the crap out of them when washing them. The only way I would let them detail my car is if it was an outside contractor doing the work. My service advisor put the whole thing into perspective for me. They was so many cars per day that they get careless.

I agree - do not let the dealership detail your car unless it is an outside contractor who has experience with this and has a good reputation to back them up. Otherwise, more often than not they have inexperienced people/kids working on your car who will swirl up your finish or worse. In any event, $130 for a detail sounds cheap - purely anecdotally, most reputable detailers seem to charge $150 and up (usually closer to $175 or $200).

I agree also. I don't even let the dealer do a courtesy car wash... Do it yourself with the $150 in a good set of waxes & buffer. Radio is free & cooler full of coolies is optional for a Saturday afternoon away from it all.

I appreciate everyone's thoughts, does anyone know a good detailer in New York? Should I even do it now given its right before the winter?
