Desert/Parchment

How do you guys like the above color combination? Is it really that difficult to keep interior clean?

This is my color combination. I love it. The parchment is really nice but small children will ruin it easily.

IMO...not a big fan of gold colors. I think it tends to make the car look like an older person drives it (then again, at 23 most TL drivers are "old"- no offense all). And the combo of the really light colored exterior and really light interior = boring looking car. Parchment is really light and shows dirt like crazy.

Just my opinion... I hope you are happy with whatever you decide to get.

I've had the Pearl, auto, navi, parchment, rear spoiler, full bra, de-badged, since Nov 7th. Absolutely wonderful vehicle. Couldn't be happier with my choice of colors. HOWEVER, I don't have children so the parchment was a perfect choice for me, but I suspect I would have gone with a different interior color if I did. The parchment isn't hard to keep clean, but it does require an effort. For me, and the 100s of people who stop by my store to ask "what in the world is THAT", it's worth it.

I have this combo and have no problems keeping it clean, in fact the exterior looks clean even when there is dirt on it. As for the interior I have the all season mats which keep the carpets spotless. Pics in my gallery.

What color are the backup sensors?

Jss1,

I thought the backup sensors were body colored. But yours look like they have black centers. Whats the deal?

Hey now, I had 2 gold Accords. I liked the color. If it makes me look "old" well, thats probably a good thing, reduces theft and vandalism.

The sensors are body coloured. The two centre ones are much bigger and are very deep and are Desert Mist as far back as I can see. Its the shadowing that makes them look black. The outer two are smaller as their range is much less and they emit a higher frequency than the centre ones. The outer two are sealed with plastic or glass just inside each sensor but are the same colour as the car up to the actual plastic. Wouldn't be without them.

I have that color combo, but I have the 2003 TL. Leather will need to be cleaned once a month.

I traded my hard to keep clean black TSX for 04 TL in Desert Mist with Parchment. Decidedly better color in long run. Does look older but I like the practical nature of it. TL does feel bigger than the easy to toss around TSX. hard to believe both based on the Accord!

That combo has many advantages:
1 doesn't need to be cleaned very often.
2 doesn't attract attention from thieves
3 Doesnt attract attention from cops
4 Doesn't attract attention from muggers
5 Doesn't get super hot in the summer

Its my personal favorite combination. However, it has to be a good Desert paint. Acura/Honda have one. GM does, Cadillac does but not recently, but FORD DOES NOT. Ford looks like friggin primer coat.

Color Choices

Well been down to the Acura dealer here in the Detroit area for the 5th time to check out different color combo's.

I kind of like the Camel interior, very rich looking.
Parchment is my second choice.
I would really like a white/camel combo but not available.
So my choices are the red or black. I'm kinda unsure about the anthrocite color, blue so so.
They didn't have a green TL but the salesman showed me
a Accord green which has the same name and it looks almost
dark grey. I couldn't believe it, didn't look green at all.
I'm 57 y/o, a motor head still, really want a TL, may wait until
'05 to see it any color changes occur. They will have the codes
all fixed, as well as the tire issue hopefully.

The dealer has a white/parchment TL, non navi, 5AT with
body kit, spoiler and will give it to me for base MSRP. If only
it had Navi.. would be in my garage as we speak.

I want the Navi though. I doubt if I have the patience to wait though. My dealer will give me 500-800 off on the Navi option if I order.

Have any of you folks opted for the extended warranty?
Dealer also offers a paint protect that is guaranteed for 5 years.
I might do this if I get the black car, unless you wise ones have
other product ideas. I had a black GMC Typhoon that was a pain to keep real nice. But when it looked good, it was really good.
My white SHO was real easy to keep nice.

What changes do you folks feel will occur for '05?

Thanks for listening.

Craig
