dent resistant..?
dent resistant..?
i just looked at the acura TL interactive showroom and it says that the doors are sculpted from dent resistant high strength steel......
does it mean that the doors wont get dented..?

There is a difference in Dent and a Ding. In matter of time, all doors will be dinged no matter whether you put BSM or not, unless of course you do not park in a public parking lot.
The only car I've seen which is dent/ding free is Saturn. I dunno why Acura cannot create one.

Saturn uses thermoplastic vertical panels. They are dent and ding resistant. However, the downside is their higher thermal expansion coefficient - which implies that they will have larger and uglier panel gaps to accommodate this expansion.

The door panels on the 2-Gen TL's were paper thin. They'd dent if your breathed on them heavy. I think the above statement is the Acura marketing folk's way of letting everyone know they've finally upgraded to what has always been an industry standard.
