Dent Easy...agree or disagree?

Is it me or does the TL dent very easily?

For example, if I put my weight on the hood you can feel it crease in a little.

Sure. I've had more dents in this car than others. Whether or not that actually means anything...

I don't think it's the TL any more than any other car made in the last 10-20 years. They are making them with thinner and thinner metal every year. My Saturn was great, I loved the plastic body panels, no dings or dents. You could punch it, kick it, whatever and it looked as good as new. I have no idea why the other car companies haven't adopted this. They probably don't want to lose the money they make fixing the dents......

My Dad did that while he was waxing soon after he got his RRP.
The Dent Wizard fixed her all up nicely.

I've noticed no measurable differences between my TL vs. my 2000 Accord that I sold to get this car, or my wife's 2003 Pilot. Perhaps we could make the case that Honda's are a little more prone to dents, but I have no way of knowing given that Honda's or Acura's are all I've owned for the past 14 years.

i feel the crease on the hood and the fenders if weight is put on it. i think it's meant to do that so in the even of an accident, the metal will absorb the impact and try to protect the cabin.

I've been meaning to post about this. Mainly so others can learn from my stupid mistake.

I put a little bit of weight on the crease on the hood while pulling the wipers out while washing. The crease bent in, but poped back out again on its own. I was very surprised as I didn't put that much weight on it at all.

Now if it hits the light just right you can see a slight difference where it poped. How much does Dent Wizard charge for a small fix like that?

Nope.
I am portly , and put dents in my '05 by a)leaning in to change wiper blades, b) closing the trunk lid without using the convenient hand slot that Acura provides (NOW I know I they put it there), c) bracing myself on the fender when getting my stiff body off the ground after just rotating the tires (the last one, thank you)...Hey, I'm OLD.
This one dents much easier than my '01 CL Type "S", which I traded, as well as my wife's '02 Toyota Celica.
Dent Wizard is a very profitable company, and I am learning.

DO NOT test the ability of the body panels to flex. Even though they "spring back" under minor pressure they will leave visible signs and distortion around the area. Trust me on this.
I wanted to feel how rigid the suspension was and pushed down on the left front fender. The panel flexed ever so slightly ( the suspension never moved ) and I just chalked it up as the way cars are built in this day and age of energy absorbing materials. Now, getting into and out of the car offers me a superior angle to look right at that distortion every day and you can imagine what that does to the OCD type personality that so many of us resemble.

I wish I would have read a thread like this when I bought it. My 03 TL-S wasn't this frail.
