Once a dealer receives a car, typically how long should it take for them to prepare it and deliver it. I live 45 minutes away from the dealer and they are delivering it to my address.

I was told the car will come in at the dock sep 12-16. I would assume they take it to the dealer the same or next day, so I am trying to figure out when i should have it in my hands. Anyone who has seen this before, are they usually on time with these things?

 

The dealer can take a car off the truck and have it ready for delivery within a couple of hours. Most of that time is spent detailing it.

Unless you're getting priority treatment, I'd say half a workday. They'll work pretty hard to deliver any car on-hand on the first possible business day.

1) Any idea why there is a 5 day time window for when it is to enter the country

2) Since it is being delivered to a dock (baltimore), does this mean that the car was made in japan?

 

If you are getting an 04TL, it is made in Ohio. I would guess the dock they are talking about is the loading dock where it will be put on the transporter, and they leave a window in case something delays the delivery or it is delivered sooner than expected.

Once your dealer gets the car, as said above, it doesn't take too long to get it ready. They remove the plastic paint protective film, wash and detail it, install the floor mats and other accessories, and hopefully road test it a little.
