decoding the vin#?

decoding the vin#?

can we figure out when the vehicle was built, i.e. the day/month/year from the 17 digit number? thanks in advance.

You can "decode" the vin here:
http://www.analogx.com/contents/vinview.htm
The last 6 numbers is the build number but to correllate that to a date requires others who know their build date and vin #. Mine came out March 22 with a 038xxx number.

You can't figure out when the vehicle was built from the vin, but there is a tag in the driver's door jamb with a month and year date. The dealer would have to get the exact build date on his computer.
