For the roof spoiler, you want to buy from bmwoemshop

Okay so now I'm a little bit confused, I purchased a trunk lip spoiler from this seller, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...#ht_3694wt_952

and I got this..

which looks very similar to this roof spoiler
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/PAINTED-ACURA...ht_4620wt_1396

my question is, what exactly did I buy? Trunk lip spoiler or roof spoiler?

That looks much different than the OEM trunk lid spoiler.

I understand it doesn't look like the OEM lid spoiler, but can it be used as one?

Yes, that should be able to be used as a trunk lip spoiler. The same style is used for the rear window/roof spoiler, just the length is supposedly a bit different.

Anyone know what this most likely resembles? I think for $20 you can't go wrong & I have an Anthracite Metallic TL. Was looking for this exact trunk lip. This is a trunk lip, right? I don't want the one that is meant for the back of the roof...

Don't buy something that is $20. Save yourself the headache and spend a little more for better quality.

$20 won't even buy you a paint job for the spoiler (probably spray painted). Stop being cheap people

If someone purchased from this exact vendor and can post about the quality, I will surely save myself some cash and get this for $20.

I bought a spoiler for cheap ($100), legit spoiler with brake lights. I installed this on my '99 TL and while it was very cheap, the quality was fine & the paint was great for the 7 years I had it on there...

You can't compare a $20 item to a $100. Almost like comparing a Civic to a TL or a Type-S to a R8 (5x difference).

I had 'thespoilerstore' spoiler and it lasted 3 years with some small problems with paint and TSS sent me another one free of charge and apologized. I have the Type-S spoiler now, but the person who I sold it to has had it for a year with no problems. Just think about it. $20 for paint and the material-- you're not getting something of quality unless they feel like losing money.

Shouldn't be so quick to judge. DEFINITELY NOT SPRAY PAINTED. Finish and quality of the $20 trunk lip spoiler is just as good as my BMWOEMSHOP roof spoiler that I purchased for ~$75.

Here's a picture of my trunk lip that I bought off eBay for ~$20

I also have the BMWOEMSHOP roof spoiler installed.

This is what a $20 lip spoiler looks like. I still want the OEM Type-S spoiler, but fuck paying ~$500 new.

viet, how long have you had the spoiler? You can't be quick to judge your product also. Not going to make this a thread about bashing Chinese worksmanship/products, but $20?

And I'm sorry if I sound cynical/one-sided, but I'm like a old-fashioned American. I want shit bought in the US and made in the US.

The trunk lip spoiler for a little over 2 months, the roof spoiler for 1 year 1 month.

$20 is a good deal if it lasts. If it doesn't, than so what? It's only $20 that you lost. If it happens to go bad than you can just buy a ~$100 replacement lip spoiler if you wanted.

But what if the $20 turns out to be good and actually does last as long as the $100 one? Than you just saved yourself a good amount of money. If it doesn't last nearly as long, than big deal you just lost $20 but yet it still lasted what? AT LEAST 3 months. I'm sure you can make the $20 you lost within those 3 months easily lol...

Well both spoilers obviously work, so to each his own

I bought mine from thespoilerstore 4 years ago and it has held snug to the car and it is still in great condition other than a small chip I noticed a few months back. I'm not sure if this was from regular weather/wear or a defect, or that horrible hail storm that pummeled my car last summer...

Did you just show them a pic of it, tell them the paint was not to your liking and ask for a new one?

I wonder if I could do that. But I purchased mine 4 years ago and don't have the receipt or anything, I guess only whey they know I purchased it from them is if they kept my purchase info in their database, which they should have. I wonder if I should ask for a new one since it does say lifetime warranty from defects. Hail is a defect

You do realize you own a Japanese car right (and don't feed me that B.S. that its made in USA because it is merely assembled here with Japanese parts). If you really felt this way you would have bought an American car but that is tough to find due to the fact that a lot of American cars are now made in Mexico or Canada.

Yeah basically talked to them back and fourth and showed them pictures. Also let them know I was from AZ.

It was made in the US. I don't care if it is technically a Japanese car. Employed AMERICANS made the car.

Well, when we were shooting pictures after the install, he did (jokingly?) tell me not to zoom into his spoiler or else people at azine would laugh

I think for 20 bucks, what the hell. I'd stick one on.

But I'd rather go for the OEM thespoilerstore look.
Now if only they made a Type-S one...

Geez, it's a freaking deck lip people. Save yourself the money and get yourself the $20 one. 95% of the deck lips on eBay are from Taiwan and range from $20 to $80. If you are going to buy one from overseas, why not save the $60.

If you like the look of 'thespoilerstore' then go ahead, spend a few extra bucks, that's a valid reason to pay a little more. BUT none of these are the OEM one from Acura, those cost like $200+ which is ridiculous

Sorry, but it's not just "a freaking deck lip".

That being said, the decklid from 'thespoilerstore' is pretty much OEM look and fitment
