Question Deck Lid Spoiler

Has anyone looked at other car manufacturers deck lid spoilers to see if they would fit on our cars? Lexus, Infiniti, Saab, BMW, etc. I think their are some out there that would look good.

Thats funny, I've been looking at a BUNCH of decklids and rooflips to see if they would work but I'm too much of a pansy to go and buy one just to find out it doesnt work.

just measure and then go to other dealerships and see what matches up. I'm going to try and do the same if I can find any spare time.

Yeah, but we have to get something that is somewhat similar shaped, for example it cant be like the rear of a 3 series because the trunk is way more rounded than the TL. It's definitely possible just have to find a good match.

I was looking at the older C's and they look somewhat similar but the width may not be enough

that's nice. It flows with aspec kit, and since the TL drunk lid is more square than the ES, it's going to be more aggressive.

you'd need something made of polyurethane so that it is flexible

Alright guys... I just left the Lexus dealership and I want to start by saying that the IS F is my new favorite car! Anyway, I spoke to them about what I was looking to do and of course the guy I talked to was like we have someone install all of our spoilers and you need to contact him. He will have all the specs, yada yada. I called this guy and he said, no problem and to bring the car in so we oculd start test fitting different spoilers until we find one I liked, but it was going to run $500 for everything. What? $500 for what exactly?

To make a long story short I am going to bypass this guy and see if I can just go through the Lexus parts department. I can only wish that the IS F spoiler will fit. I don't think it will, but man that thing is so sick looking! I'll keep you all posted on the progress.

I think the standard IS350 declid spooiler is a bit flimsy lookiing, but the IS-F is mean looking. I also think the ES350 deck lid looks great too. I agree with enigmaos when he said it flows with the A-Spec kit.

Do spoilers have any function for normal driving or are they the equivalent of tail fins?

I love this spoiler... always wanted to see that spoiler on a TL.
How much does this spoiler cost? Maybe I should buy one on ebay and try to fabricate it to fit the TL...

Saw one on the way to work. Looks good.

See to actually fit decklids from other trunks, the decklid MUST be somewhat flexible so it forms to the TL's fat ass.

So I went to the Lexus dealership again today and spoke with one of the guys in parts. They do not keep any spoilers in stock because if someone wants to buy one they just overnight it. He is going to call and see if he can get some general specs to see if this will even work. He is checking on the ES350 and IS-F spoilers. I'll update this thread after he calls me back.

I just got a call back from the Lexus parts guy. our trunk measures just a hair under 44''. The IS-F spoiler is 47.7'' and the ES350 is just under 50''. I guess these two options are out.

Hey Twigglius. I hope you don't mind but I think I'm going to "tackle this project" "with you". I think I might just order that one Lexus spoiler you first posted [was it the ES350?] and try chopping and refabricating it to fit the TL once my financial status is up to par again.

since we are on the topic of other vehicle spoilers. i cam to realize that the type s spoiler from the 2005-2006 rsx looks identical to the tl type s spoiler. does anyone know if this spoiler will fit a tl? i cant figure out the trunk measurment for the rsx to figure it out. any feedback on this would help a lot , thanks
