Debadging the TL
Whats up guys? I'm 16 now haha. Haven't been on here for a while due to school and not having time. Well today I have some free time soooo I'm planning to debadge my car but i need some pointers.
Here's what I know. I'm gonna heat it up with a blow dryer than use dental floss and just slowly rip it through. But i know, sticky gunk will be left over and I'm not sure if I need to get goo gone because my father said that using alcohol will do pretty much the same. He'll also help me buff it since he doesn't want me to burn through the paint (never happened before) hah.
Wondering if alcohol would do the trick to remove the goo. Thanks yo! I'ma nooob

Rubbing alcohol won't damage your paint... imo, it'll still be alot easier to get the leftover adhesive off with goo gone.. or you can use wd-40. just clean it up afterwards.
you'll probably want to hit the debadged spots with a polish and wax afterwards. there may be a badge outline even after you get the badges off that you'll have to polish out.

It can leave quite a bit of goo, I used goo gone but you could probably use alcohol and it will be fine. Just might take a little longer. You might not need to take a buffer to it. I just put a little wax on it and gave it a little hand buff and you could not even tell the emblems were there.

Just dont think it will take 20 mins...It's a pretty tedious and time consuming task if you want to do it right and not cause any damage. Be patient!

Finished Look
Okay so well I didn't feel like doing it yesterday so I did it this morning hahaha.
It was literally about a 30-45 minute project together.
All I used was Dental floss (kept ripping) 70% Rubbing Alcohol, my hands and a buffer. NO HEAT was used.
I wrapped the dental floss around my hand and stuck it in between the emblem and the paint and worked it like a saw. The emblem came off after about 2-3 minutes. The dental floss kept ripping but it was pretty easy. After so it looked like this
Close up
After that I rubbed most of the adhesive with rubbing alcohol and elbow grease. Got it nearly all off. Then took a buffer and some compound to it and it looks great!!

Now my day feels acomplished. Thanks for the help guys

When I had some adhesive left after debadging, I used hot water and my fingernail to get most off. Then I used a few different Scratch waxes I have, took some time, but it worked better for me then Goo Gone. That stuff isnt that strong

Dude, we have a lot of cars that are completely stock. Hey, it's a fun 2 day weekend. If that's the only reason you're not coming, please reconsider.

Age has nothing to do with who does or doesn't participate here and 'age-baiting' isn't welcome.
As long as a member follows the rules and is reasonably mature in their posting, it shouldn't matter if they're 16 or 66.

My parents both have nicer cars. But who cares. They are just cars.
My car being stock and all is just one part, other part is I'm often pretty busy. I'll try to make it next year thought!
