Dealership Services Experience at Cush Acura @ Kearny Mesa (San Diego)
A few weeks ago, I finally dump my sidekick (T-mobile) phone and port my number to a Sony Ericsson T616 (AT&T) with bluetooth. I was pretty excited to use it with my TL, however, I ran into the HFL issue, the MID kept displaying "HandFreeLinks: BOOTING UP" and I wasn't able to reset it anyways, exception unplugg the car battery for a few seconds. The only resolved the problem for about a day or so. The dreadful message come on again, as usual my HFL isn't responding anymore. Search forum and found out that only a few people seems to have HFL problem, but no on has the exact error message as I am.
Anyways, finally got sick of this HFL problem, decide to make an appointment with dealership and took it in. Drop it off on Thursday morning to have them fix the following 4 items:
1.HFL freeze with message "BOOTING UP".
2.Interior Roof Paneling is slumping down (Headliner)
3.Glove Compartment Fitting issue.
4.HID headlight on passenger side is slightly higher than driver side.
Cush didn't give me a loaner car, instead they provide the shuttle service, it is a bit annoyed but I figure they can resolve the problem in a day. By the end of Thursday, went back to dealership, the car isn't ready for me, because they have to take my car to an outside vendor to fix the headliner problem #2, so they gave me a white TSX loaner car for rest of day and next day, okay, that wasn't too bad, I guess i get to test drive the Euro-Accord.
I was also told that they have to replace the HFL control module and it is back-order for 2 weeks or so. SO i have to bring my car back once / if they do get the part. :banghead: Rest of the night, I definitely really "test" drove the loaner TSX.
Next day come (Friday), patiently wait until end of the day, call the service rep back, he said my car still not ready, I have to wait until Monday, didn't like to be part from my TL for another 2 days, I decide to go back to dealership and get my car. I was offer for a free car wash, I patiently waited, finally saw my car. And I guess with 2 days of my TL, the dealership couldn't perform any work regarding to 4 of the problems above, regarding to #3 Glove compartment fit problem, they don't know how to fix it and calling the Acura help line, apparently didn't know how to fix it neither. Regarding to #4 headlight not balance, they said it is normal for HID light, that I don't know, I never have a HID light, however, my loaner TSX doesn't seems to have that problem.
Also when I was looking at my service workorder, the priority field is "5", I guess i'm not paying for any services, my priority is a lot lower than other customers. if that is the case, it just sucks.
I'm just getting a bit frustrated now. For 2 days, they couldn't resolve any of the problems. Seems like I'm the first one that bring those TL problem to their attentions.
Anyone else have similar problem with HFL ?? and HID light not balance ?? Or other service experiense at Cush ?
Should I have complains to someone ?

I've had good experiences with Cush in Escondido but found that Kerney Mesa required more follow-up by me. It's a bit annoying so I try to use Escondido whenever possible (it's a hassle to drive there, but worth it for more difficult problems).
When I did have something fixed by Kerney Mesa they did a good job, I just didn't get the followup (I like to know if I'm going to get my car that day, and KM would not call me, I'd have to call them, leave a VM etc.etc.). I had the headliner issue and glove box issue fixed by Escondido, so maybe KM can call them on the glove box fix :-)
BTW - I would not let the priority number tick you off. I have the same number on a recent service workorder from Escondido and I can guarantee I was not at the bottom of the list for service.

Same experiences here with Kerney Mesa, they should have call me and let me know my car won't be ready, instead I have to call them to find out what was current status.
I actually bought my car from Cush in Escondido, i heard good thing about the services over there. But i think they also provide loaner for any services ?
The drive up to Escondido is just a hassle, specially with commuter traffic on I-15 north/south at the end of the day. I live/work around Kerney Mesa.
How long did Escondido take to fix your headliner and glove box issue ??

So you are saying, upgrade the firmware can fix the problem ?

That makes a lot sense but I'm surprised the services rep and technician didn't know about this.
However, I didn't notice that on TSX though, it might be TSX HID light are seems to much lower than TL.

(ignore the dots... this is the only way to get the line to kinda line up with the diagonal for the passenger side light.)
This is the way the topline of my headlights look if I see it on an upslope. This has been discussed in one or two threads before on this forum and apart from being mandated, it is also designed to reduce the glare for oncoming drivers. (specially for HID headlights with the brighter, whiter kind of light)
If your headlight pattern looks different then you may have a problem. (Or if most others' headlight pattern looks different, let me know... I might have a problem.)

The glove box went in at a seperate time (along with other items). Whole thing took a day but that was mainly because I didn't want to fight traffic north bound in the afternoon.
In any event, I've been very happy with Escondido service. They really battled it out with Acura for me on the tire issue, usually you'll have a dealer just blow you off if the mfg doesn't want to do something. Now, my first weekend with the new tires and it's like having a new car, literaly. I love the TL again!

My TL HFL just cut off in mid call and now I have the Handfree Link Booting error. I have a 12:30 at Pohanka Acura in VA on Tuesday, hopefully it is something simple.
