Dealership '06 TL Pricing

So I finally looked at large dealerships around the Dallas Area, such is Mac Churchill and Goodson Acura.

I came acoss this 06 TL with 124k miles /w Navi
http://www.macchurchill.com/used/Acu...bee1487a18.htm

I was wondering, what price do you guys believe I should get it down too?

I also found a 06 TL White with 94k miles at the SAME listed price /w Navi but the represenative said there was a cold deposit already made on the vehicle.

The 06 with 124k miles at Mac Churchill, said he will do $500 less than the other TL, but obviously a 30,000 mile difference is not at all worth only $500 imo, so I was wondering, what would be a good price to get down to if I'm really interested in this TL.

Also, the 06 with 94k had aspec body kit, this one does not, so thats kind of a let down But not that big of a deal of course.

how does this price compare to KBB, edmund's and nada? how about others with similar miles, year and options?

i'm not really in the market for purchasing a TL...but the above resources would be the ones i'd check out first to get an idea of whether the price is fair and if you can get them to come down. depending on the dealer the e-price may be close to their bottomline (less wiggle room) or nowhere near it (bigger wiggle room). you could try for up to $2000 under the advertised price. again i have no knowledge of the current market value of the said vehicle.

I would not pay more than $13500 maybe $14000 for either, with tax and licensing it would come out to book value, I do see a black 08 w/ nav for $16900 in that first website, you can work it down to at least $15000.

I would try to get them to knock another grand off that. For example: I got my 06 w/navi with close to 67k miles for $16,000.

The condition of the vehicle as well the area will also factor into the price.

Check out the Sign In thread for some useful pricing guidelines.

I think the car should be priced at about $9k-$11k
I brought my TL with 82k miles for $14.5k so when I see 39k more miles for about the same cost it just makes me wonder who the hell are pricing these cars.

I think 12.5 to 13 would be fair. I bought my 06 6mt w/ nav for 17.5 last year w/ 39k miles on it but it was a private seller. Dealers always go off of the msrp of the vehicle. Try to talk them down and if they won't work with you then look elsewhere

Black Book trade-in values are 11,200 (clean) and 9,800 (average). I would pay no more than 20% above these values.

Edit: actually it was almost two years now, man time flys...

I just picked up a '05 TL no nav (which I did not want), 56.3K miles, original owner, in tip top shape with extras like whole front clear bra/brand new tires from costco/windowtint/ and studded tires to boot. All for $15.4K. I live in the NW so pricing up here might be slightly different than down there. I feel I got a great deal.

High milage is not a problem with newer cars now, as long as the high milage car was taken care of. a well taken care car can go way over 200K miles. but if a badly taken care car for the first 100k miles never had anything done to it, it can produce some maint issues after i'd say 125K miles.

Lots of adds say it's owned by a old lady.. well, that can be a bad decision since women don't usually know much about cars or maint on them. Most just gas/drive like crazy (yes i've seen many women drive like maniacs in nice cars, they lay on the gas from stoplight to stoplight! which is not great for a car on hot days over time that can wear the engine/trans/suspension fast). Women usually don't think about when the next maint on the car is.. it's usually other things like who's getting voted off survivor or how can i squeeze a nail job in before picking up the kids from school...etc.... This is why I do all the maint on all my cars, the wife would drive a car until it's dead.

anyways point is a documented maint history is a must when it comes to buying a used high milage car. Also make sure you do a history check and see where the car has been. you definately don't want a high milage car that comes from Alaska or even somewhere near the ocean since corrosion would be a huge problem on most of them.

.

I agree.

Just an FYI, I bought a Infinity M35 last year from MacChurhill Acura. Originally they were asking 18k, however by the time negotiations were done I got the asking price dropped by almost 2k. I'm sure there is plenty of wiggle room to lower the price on the TL you are considering.

Good luck

I got bought my 06 NBP TL w/ Nav in mid January of this year for $16k with 71K miles here in Central CA. I would agree with others that the listed price is too high. Be patient when it comes to looking for a car because the moment you buy it, you'll find one cheaper and you'll regret it.

Overpriced. Try to get them to around $12k for the first one.

I got on KBB and did an estimate for my car. 2004 with 120k miles and it said in perfect condition it would be barely work $10k. Factor in that the one you posted is two years newer and has navigation, $12k would be reasonable.
