Thumbs up Dealer ran my wheel (A-Spec) into a curb!

Weir Canyon Acura. So I take my car in for some warranty repairs: right mirror actuator clicking when reversing, moonroof sometimes doesn't want to close from vent position, and right rear speaker rattling from bumps in the road. They replace the mirror, can't duplicate moonroof, and road test it for speaker. During the road test the guy runs into the island in the service center. He calls me in to take a look at it and I'm totally col, shit happens, no big deal, joke around with the guy. The cool part is they rub it on the curb directly over a preexisting, pretty bad rash, but they extend it over 1/4 of the wheel. Woot free repair. But get this, I ask the service guybto ask the wheel guy how much to repair my front wheel too which has rash, $100 he says, I say ok do it, I'll pay $100 for the front, and dealer covers rear wheel. Guy calls me and says car is ready and he covered cost of front wheel too!! Frank at Weir Canyon is the man! That is such a cool thing to do for a customer!

I'm surprised they just didn't replace the wheel, but then I didn't know they could be fixed. How does one repair a curbed wheel?
My right mirror clicks also when I go into reverse and it tilts down.

You can repair it by cleaning it, filling it back in with bodyfiller or some hard epoxy, refinishing then repainting the wheel. Replacing the wheel can end up costing more than a repair. A New wheel from WAC is 118 while a new OEM one is upwards of 200 dollars.

As far as the mirror, there's a TSB on it to replace the mirror motors!

Interesting, I didn't know this could be done.

Mine just started doing this, and I'm just out of warranty (go figure). Will the dealer still fix it? When did the TSB come out?

Nice bro..before i read the thread i was going to tell you to vo back and ask for a free repair.. I work for a dealership and unfortunately my service techs suck..but that not the point. They send it to my body shop and have us repair and paint it.

when they screw up your car, they give a little extra to make you happy in the end
oil change, detail-whatever its going to take for all 10s on the survey cards

They get deals on repairs so it wasnt 100 for them and shop insurance covers it

Make sure its been inspected underneath for damage to the steering parts-knuckles etc
If they curbed my car and damaged a rim- I expect an alignment ck at the least--and align it~
