Guys,
I talk with my salesman about the OTD of my TL 06 w/NAV and have him break down all the fees ..... then I see a $99.55 coming from nowhere
He told me that's "Dealer Inventory Tax"

Anybody hear about that? BTW, I'm in Houston TX.

Dealer Inventory Tax is a negotiable price. If customers dont want to pay it then they can try and get it taken off or see if the dealer will trade for something else.

I've never heard of it. Sounds more like a "I'd like more of your money so we're going to A.R. you tax."

Never heard of it. I would look at another dealership in the area and see if they have this "tax"

Sounds like the dealer is trying to get you to pay for his cost to carry the car in inventory. Never really seen it broken out before but it's always an element of their cost in the deal. I'd tell him to forget it or lower your offer by $100 to compensate. Best of luck dealin' on the TL!

Indiana just did away with the inventory tax last year...this is the first year without it. End of Feb every year...the car dealers (and everybody with held inventory) had to pay a tax on said inventory. So - most dealers had huge sales beginning Jan 1 and try to deplete the inventory to as low as possible. Sounds like you live in a state where inventory tax is levied and they are attempting to pass it though to you. Common practice...and is a negotiating point.

Try reducing the selling price using the "Time Waste at the Dealership Fee".
