Dashboard scars, marks and impressions?

Hi all,

Just curious what experiences you all have had with your dashboards. IT SEEMS TO BE A VERY INTERESTING MATERIAL! Very fragile and easly marked.

I have a three month old Tl with the grey interior. I have a few surface scratches on the dash, thanks to my dealer.

Some report airbag outlines depending on the time of day.

I have seen older third gen TL's around town that have a chalky/white powder all over them. They look to be a mess!

What have you guys experienced. I hate to resort to a cover up, but perhaps protection may be a good idea.

Thanks

If you use Aerospace 303 on the dashboard it will remove that white chalky stuff and give the dash a satin finish. Some people don't like the satin finish as it's a little more shiny than the dull finish that Acura seems to have, but I've had the same problems with fingerprints etc. on the dash. Everything that touches the dash, including a paper towel will leave marks. After the 303 treatment, although it's a little more reflective (shiny) it evens out the surface and doesn't show fingerprints and other marks as quickly.

Yep - same experience here. I have ebony interior and the dash does not match the doors like I would want it to. Marks very easily - specially sliding a sun shade in and out - they are wiped away immediately with 303, but it is very easily marked up.

I'm getting airbag lines, some 303 does the trick to remove them.

The question is, would you be willing to complain to the dealer and have them replace the dash? Could cause more problems/rattles than you previously had.

Contemplated this for a long time - but came up with a big 'NO', not worth it.
