Dashboard replacement

Has anyone replaced the dashboard due to cracks? I was going to have he job done with a good will offer leaving me to pay 600 out of pocket. Is it worth the money? Or will it eventually crack again?

Of course we have. Search in the fix/issue section dashboard cracks. You can replace it with OEM or aftermarket one. Some just put a dashcover on it.

it will eventually crack again unless you park in garage most the time.

Yep I attribute mine to getting finished off by being in direct sunlight. But then again when I think it actually gave in and cracked is when I went over this construction zone that flexed the chassis too much and pushed in on the dash and I heard a loud crack. It was broken after that. But afterwards in the following months it continued to split just sitting in the sunlight.

Im not getting it fixed because for me, my TL is just a daily driver and has quite a few cosmetic problems. As long as the car drives mechanically fine I am cool with it. In some ways it is a releif because say I bump a curb or a car dings my door I am not worried about it.

To be honest, If mine does crack I will leave it as is and put a dash cover over for now, I do not have a garage to put the car in but when I do buy a house with a garage then I will replace the dash. $600 out of $2400 that not bad deal you paying 25% for total cost.

I just made an appointment to get mine replaced. I'm going to be paying $780 out of pocket It took almost nine years for it to crack, so hopefully the new dashboard will last as long. I'm trading her in when she turns 18.

Going on 11 years with mine and no cracks. It is just a matter of time. Knowing me, I probably could not stand looking at it and would probably replace it with a dash from a TL at a junkyard.

it really depend on how you taken care of the dash too, I use leather non oil base conditioner ever once a while also the sun shade always goes up no matter rain or shine. I did best on my part and the rest just up to luck.
