Dash Dressing

I'd like to know everyone's opinion on keeping your dash clean. What do you use?
Armour all?
Do you like it flat or shiny?
Any and all input would be appreciated.
Pearl, parchment, auto, navi and I love this car..........

Don't use Armour All...That will ruin your dash. Mild soap is fine.

I like Lexol Vinyl cleaner or Armorall non-gloss about every 6 months. Otherwise, a damp cloth.
Shiny, oily Armorall attracts dirt and heat. Can lead to cracking.

Ditto on the Lexol Vinylex...works great. No greasy shiny, sticky look.

I don't really use it, maybe 2-3 timres on my last black interior over a 8yr stint.

But why do you say that it will ruin it??? Too much build up?

I used to use 303 and thought it was great stuff. I recently switched to BlackFire and it is awesome. 100% water-based, satin finish, non-greasy so it doesn't attract dust. And it lasts a long time too.

I used BlackMagic on my Prelude. It was antistatic for dust, low gloss and smelled citrusy.

I had recently switched to the blackmagic wipes which I'll probably use for the TL.

I use a damp cloth, or if I'm in the mood, "Refresh" by 3M. It's made for dashes, and doesn't give you that very shiny/glossy look, just a nice clean dash with a smidge of shine that doesn't get in your way..

When I helped out in an automotive upholstery shop, many years ago, they would not honor a guarantee if you used armour-all. Said product is petroleum based, as is vinyl, and same bases will brake each other down. Recommend armour-all to the people you don't like.

I've used armor all for 20 years. I have never, I repeat never had a cracked dash. The important thing is to keep the harsh sun off your dash. What cracks the dash is the constant UV and high temperatures. I use the low gloss, personal preference. I only use it for the interior plastic I dont use it on my tires (too pimp). It's not meant for leather.

vtechbrain - heck, I've used Armor All also for the better part of 30 years, but generally not on my dash, especially since I live in Florida where the temp inside your car can reach 140 degrees.
Plus, I don't like that gloss reflecting off my windshield because it makes my dashboard that more obvious in my windshield. (And yes, I've tried their non-gloss as well, but, for me, it doesn't work very well on the black dashboard's such as the one I have in my new TL.)

MY secret for For 20 + years - LEMON PLEDGE! It is great for all parts of your car interior! Vinyl, wood, plastic, chrome and even the leather between Lexol treatments. It is self-cleaning, and non greasy. Fancy stuff is not needed.

Spray it on the cloth, NOT on the car, wipe lightly and buff. It looks great and smells good, too.

Armor All is really bad for cars - holds dirt and grease.

I use on my dash every once in awhile a product called UV2 made by Hollander Co. Kinda hard to find, website is hollander1.com and they have a special 4.99 for 32 ounces, regular price nine dollars. Works really good also doesn't give the greasey-shiney look, just nice finish.... Also another tip I use is the dry cloth grab-it or swifter dust mop cloth refills. I keep a few in console and wipe dash to grab up all dust, etc.

i jus used the meguire dash protecting, it seems ok , but leaves a lil sticky film, i thought it didnt but did, my TL is parked in the garage at nite time and where i work they have covered garage so i dont have to worry bout dash gettin eaten up by the sun..

this is a lil off topic, but i also use the meguire leather cleaner and conditioner, i did this during the evening when it was dark, this morning on my way to work i notice the passender side leather had some kind of color distortion, half of it seems not to have that shine/smoothness,, seems rough, but it was only the passenger seat, do you guys know how i can get that smoothness back, and does acura warranty cover leather seats? Thanks in advance for any info.

I used Armour All exclusively on my Accord. After 15 years, the interior looks brand new...

Lemon Pledge for all your interior? The Zaino king is using lemon pledge? I guess I'll have to try it!

A friend of mine used the shiny Armour All every couple of weeks on his red dash. Personally, I hated the look.

Eventually, he did too - The Amrour All eventually sucked the color out of his dash within the first year of ownership. He was able to get his dash replaced under warranty, claiming it was defective.

I knew better, though. I accidently bumped up against his dash once after he had it treated, and some of the dye rubbed off on my shirt (The shirt was ruined). At the time, my friend claimed it was just dirt on the dash that came off on my shirt, but eventually he realized the truth.
