Damn heat seat buttons!

Today, I accidentally turned on my heated seats (again) and didn't notice it until I started to wonder why I was sweating with the A/C on. This seems to be a recurring problem with me....hitting the button accidentally.

My strong suggestions would be to move these buttons so they're in front of the transmission instead of behind it, where my hands keep turning on the heaters. Still love the car, just a rant.

I'm thinking that you could just pull the fuse for those front seat heaters......granted they would have to be on their own and independent from other electronics.

Just a thought if you're really having a hard time with them going on in the summer. Then when cold weather approaches, put the fuse back in.

I did that driving home when I picked up my car. I couldn't figure out why it was so hot when I had the temp set at 70!

At least I know my seat heater will keep me warm and toasty when winter rolls around. It works great and heats up very quickly! :P

southern california's version is equipped for pranks

i live in so cali too and what those heat buttons are good for are pranks lol. my gf and i went to vegas last month and we left early in the morning. she slept most of the way and i turned her heat seats on. when the sun rose and temp outside hit to about 86 degrees she started wondering why it was so hot. i told her i'll crank up the a/c lol. oh man she didn't know it was on for like 2.5 hours. i do that to friends too and they'd always complain how my TL's a/c sucks. some of my friends who know about the heated seats don't want shot gun anymore or use their hands to cover the switch so i won't get them unexpectedly. some sit in the back until i tell them that the back seats are heated and that the switch is next to me lol.

It is Fuse #15, on the interior fuse box above the hood release. It is the fourth one from the left in the second (middle) row.

Pictures on page 248, owner's manual.

I have hit the switch accidentally also. Maybe I will pull the fuse, since I probably will never need it here in sunny Florida.

Ron A - In Navarre? Surely you could use those heated seats once or twice in January.

I did that to my wife. After about 10 minutes she thought she was having her first "hot flash".

I wouldn't be too sure about that. It has been raining buckets here in So. Florida, and the inside of the car tends to get cold with the A/C on. I actually used the seat heater yesterday driving home in the rain. Felt nice!
