Damn this car pulls hard!!

So tonight I was cruising at about 50KM/H in 2nd gear on the BLVD approaching an intersection. When I was about 10 car lengths away from the beginning of the intersection the light turned yellow so I immediately went WOT and damn did it ever pull HARD! As soon as I floored it I had to grip the steering wheel pretty hard to keep the car straight cause the tires spun a bit at the start. I even cleared the intersection before the light turned red. And when I hit the higher RPM's the car pulled way harder than in the low end.

This car is absolutely amazing!!

I personally love the 6th to 4th downshift on the interstate to make a pass and let it run through the RPMs back up to 5th and then let off as I shift into 6th again... Whoops, 100 comes and goes very fast in this badboy!

And so smooooooooth throughout.... I am so happy to have the 6MT.

The downshift to 3rd on the highway is a bit rough with 6 gears in the TLs. I remember all those 5th to 3rd down shifts in my Mustang and smashing the pedal to the floor to pass most anyone in my way. Just raw power, very noisy.

The TL is such a different beast... so quiet yet so smooth.

I missed having a manual with my last TL ('03 TL S-Type) so I'm glad to have another MT.

I'm all for gunning it when it is safe to do so. Entering an intersection is just about the worst place you can floor it. Most accidents happen in intersections.

Although I occasionally do the 6th-to-4th downshift, I wonder if it's hard on the syncros?

Interesting. Most people dislike torque steer . . .

I have to say, since having the 6MT, that the toque steer is not that bad. Because of the limited slip in the 6MT cars, it is no where near as bad as the 5AT. The length of the axle's also play a key in this. There is less flex in the shorter axle, so the longer axle will give and then snap to catch up pulling the car to one side.

Now I do have to say, do not try and get on it all the way when turning out on to a road. She goes nuts when you do that.
