CV Axle about to brake?

Hoping someone can tell me if this is an issue that needs immediate attention as i'm not sure what part of the axle this is? I noticed these today as i got a inspection report from Firestone that i need to replace the front struts as they are leaking. So while i was checking them out i noticed this but Firestone never mentioned anything about this during inspection. Please see pics and requesting some advice. Thanks all.

Looking at some Youtube videos, its seems this is the case, CV axle is rusted through. Just ordered new ones for both sides.

Yes, that axle needs to be replaced ASAP.

Thanks for the info. I'm also replacing the front struts, anything else recommended to replace while doing this?

Just curious, which brand of axles did you decide on?
Provide a link if possible.

Good point, I think I'll just do both lower control arms while I'm at it, they are just packed with rust.
