Curb Weight Trivia

And I mean trivia-

I noticed that the 06 TL is about 11 pounds heavier than the 05...

Example:

05 6MT w/o navi 3472
06 6MT w/o navi 3483

Does TPS weigh 11 pounds?

Possibly with the antennas, sensor and the 'brain' to the TPMS system.

That's why you should buy the 05, weight savings, faster, shave like .5 sec off your 1/4 mile

Really though, I have no damn clue. I don't even know of any other additions/changes that would factor in.

it's from the TPMS

the sensors in the tires are at least 1-2lbs each, so thats a max of 8lbs, and the module in the car is a pound or 2

The sensors don't weigh 1-2lbs each. They are VERY light. I have held them and they didn't feel anything like one lb. Maybe they are, but I don't think so...

you sure you held the actual sensors? they are inside the wheel, and can only be removed it the tire is removed from the rim
