Crunch

I had some goodies installed last week and was attempting to take a few pictures over the weekend. The past weekend in PA was the equivalent of living in a wind tunnel and that brings me to my problem. I was reaching for my camera and opening the driver side door at the same time when a huge gust of wind caught me off guard. My driver door opened to full extension and I heard a loud crunch. I expected to see a huge dent in the door, but to my surprise, there was no damage at all. Is it possible to damage the safety latch inside the door and should I have it looked at by a tech? I just want to make sure I actually have a problem before I go to the dealer with my issue.

p.s. The goodies were a set of Eibach springs and Koni Yellows. I'll post pics eventually.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

I'm guessing the sound was from the door hinges taking the hit? I'm sure they're designed to withstand a decent amount of force (i.e. opening doors at a steep hill, etc). If the doors still align as before and there aren't any noise when opening/closing the door, I wouldn't bother going to the dealer (but obviously, mention it if you were gonna go there for another issue).

Nice suspension choice. I was considering this, as the koni yellows are top notch. Looking forward to your pics.

koni yellows and Eibach springs?? I envy you.. How much coin did you drop if you dont mind me asking?

as for the door I agree with ndx2's assesment. If its still aligned and there are no noises I dont think I would worry too much about it.

Thanks for the replies, what I thought as well, but it gives me peace of mind to have it confirmed.

I know a guy who runs a High Performance Shop in the area so I got a real good deal. For Konis, Eibachs, camber kit, alignment and labor for the install it ran me about 1,500.00. I'd have to go back and look at the "official" paperwork, but I think is was somewhere in that price point.
