Cree LED Fogs

Well I decided to start my modding for the year this beautiful weekend here in Toronto by replacing my Hoen H8 fogs with "80w" H8 LED's.

Took all of 10 minutes and wow what a difference. Now I have to replace my HID bulbs to match them up. I initially wanted to go 3K HID's but I didn't feel like finding a good quality kit then installing the ballast and dealing with that mess.

Bulb comparison:

Hoen H8 vs Generic H8 LED

Wow - nice improvement. I bought some 10 dollar H11 LEDs for my inspire fogs right now. I wanted the 50W CREEs, but I think vendors are still milking the profit on them right now at 30+ per bulb.

How much were these 80w bulbs?

How is the light output of it at night compared to halogen fogs? I have Hoen Endurance (yellow) for my fogs right now.

It does have glare but whats bugging me is the hid color not matching up. Ahh now to buy new HID bulbs.

Did you buy locally? I found a pair on Ebay for $36.85 CDN w/ free shipping. If these are the same ones you have then I'm gonna buy them.

You need h8's however h11's will work but you have the shave a bit off the tabs. When the guy sold me the bulbs locally he said even though the bag said h8 I would have to shave the tab down however I did not need to do this.

My bulb looks a tad bit different but I think it should be similar.

Since the wattage on these is so high, do you have to use the resistors to keep the CAN bus from giving messages, or something? I figured I could splurge on these for the stock fog location since I have an 04.
