Exclamation Crashes

It seems we see a lot of accidents on this board. Apparently the machinery regularly exceeds the skills of quite a few drivers around here. Our insurance rates are sure to fly off in the near future. Fortunately given the TL's fantastic features we have heard of no fatalities

accidents

As I have been a critic of acura at times. I had to avoid a drunk driver who cossed two lanes and almost struck my car. I was able to avoid the other car, but was not able to recover at 75 mph and straighten the car out. I left the road at 75 took out a road sign with the passenger side of my car and was still able to drive the car off the highway... Side air bag deploying and all and I did not have a scratch. 7000 in damage...

I had potenzas on the car... they helpe me avoid the other car....

Mine was a female drive who turned left in front of me thru an intersection when I had already entered the intersection and I t-boned her. I had the green, she was at fault, she got ticketed, she lost her case. That wasn't the exceeding of my abilities nor the car's, the brakes worked fine, the ABS lit up, but at 10 feet away, nothing you can do. Cept pass legislation to keep women off the road, then we'd have 75% less accidents.

And blonde Buckhead women in RX300/330's on their cell phones, i'm going to start carrying a gun soon. Anyone make a consumer purchaseable EMP emitter strong enough to take out a car yet ??

Had a lady blow her horn at me last nite after I blew my horn at her for dropping 20mph on I75 north on the connector because she needed over to I75 before it split and she was on the I85 half and was braking to get over causing everyone behind her to jam on the brakes, bleached blonde, on the phone, RX300, from Alabama, what a combination.

I don't understand the whole blowing the horn back at you thing when they were at fault. Stupid arrogance.

Accident levels...

That probably has a pretty simple explanation.

Acura dealers are typically situated in large, urban areas. The majority of the sales are likely to people living in high population areas. More people, more traffic, more miles driven so the higher the probability of being involved in an accident.

Some may have been driver induced, but the larger share are likely just the luck of the draw.

Sounds perfectly reasonable

actually

I think the better explanation would be the cars and how they are built today...

0-60 times that muscle cars in the late 60s could not compete against. engines tires, suspension, and braking systems that allow us to drive at speeds that are much greater than ever before.

A minivan routinely goes by me on the way to work. I decided to clock this gal and she was doing 90. I usually try to go no faster than 80 in a 65 zone...

All the while I am thinking if this person had to make an emergency manuever, she could kiss her ass and van good bye. Since the car I drive is much more capable at that speed... add a touch of water, snow or ice... and you got a nice mess...

But you say I got 4 wheel drive and a 4500 pound machine with a hemi... I have seen those upside down as well. The whole idea is that the car protects you with 6 airbags and this and that...

jsk22: coming from up north, got my license after a year of drivers ed in high school then a wisconsin driving test, then moving down here, ya wonder if there's ANY prerequisites or tests (and no, there is no mandatory driver's ed down here).

I wonder how long it will take before the world finds out it's not a real Hemi engine in all the new cars/trucks. Research found that the engine does not have the hemispherical combustion chamber but rather a pent roof chamber *tsk tsk*. My Accord 2.3L is a more true hemi than the dodge/chrysler 5.7.
