Hi Everyone, Just Wanted To Share A Story About My Tl. I Got The Car In August Of 06 And Got Into A Carr Accident In Oct. Of 06. They Guy Flew Into Me From Behind And Took Off Basically The Whole Back( Back Quarter Panel, Trunk, Lights, And Even Damaged The Door). The Car Is Still In The Shop Today Becuase Insurance Dosent Want To Pay, Becuase They Think Its My Fault I Was On A Red Light An The Guy Flew Into Me Goin At Least 60. Whats Even Funnier Is The Guy Had A Peice Of Shyt Hundaii Which Still Ran,. Dont Ask I Dont Know, That Car Was A Ball After It Hit My Car, He Decided To Run From Me, So I Had To Chase Him Down With A Messed Up Back And Messed It Up Even More, The Bumper Fell All The Way Down To The Tire And Was Scraping The Tire. Ill Post Pictures If The Messed Up Tl In A Few. Whats Sucks Even More Is That The Car Was A Finance :[.

 

wow... he hit u and u had to CHASE him with ur banned up car??..... and STILL insurance thinks it's UR fault?.. if it is ur fault that guy does not have to run away after the accident rite? isn't that common sense? sorry to hear that i got rear ended on a red light a month ago by a caravan my whole bumper came off and a minor damages on the trunk... i hope insurace will cover the damages

 

First of all, YOU should have gone to the hospital then the police woud have had to charge someone. Then, you someone would have been faulted. I do not know how this guy did not get a ticket. Explain?

 

I don't understand what mike1988 is trying to say here. It's like he's hiding the other half of the story. Chasing the guy who hit and run isn't a good idea. You should've reported to the police. What did you do? Chase him and pull him over, like you're the cop?? Get your hands in the air! something doesn't sound right here. Maybe that's why the insurance doesn't want to pay for the damage on your car.

 

Bought my 06' TL in Nov. of 05'. A year and day later, my wife gets rear ended in it while she was stopped. The Ford 150 hit her doing 50 mph without slowing what so ever. (no injuries) However, my new TL is totaled and the truck that hit the TL is totaled too!!! Pushed the trunk into the back seat. On the upside, I'm getting back 3,000 grand less than what I paid for it and buying a new 07' Acura TL two weeks before Christmas!!!! Thanks AAA!!!! Merry Christmas to me!!

Of course, there's the photo of the new 06 TL. You don't wanna see the photo of the car in the wrecking yard, you'd cry!!

Well I can at least show you the pics of my totalled red Acura NSX and finally bought an Acura TL '06. It was more disaster for me. Imagine how I felt when they killed my NSX during shipment. I never got to drive the thing.

I purchased a mint conditioned(30k miles) used Acura NSX out of state, about 2300 miles apart from where I live. The car was being transported to my place but hit a deer at night and the whole truck lost control and ran into a ditch at high speed. The trailer rolled over. My NSX got crushed, while it's still in the trailer. It got totalled. It was a nightmare. It took me over 3 months to get my money back.

 

^WOW! At least it wasnt on the bottom, it would probably of had damage, but who wants to repair a car and have problems with it.

i didnt have time o think it ca,me as a shock to me and it just hit me to chase him ppl in the street saw it, and they were yellin an screaming when i got out of the car my head was bleeding he saw me put in in reverse and went up basically around the block ppl were jumpin in front of his car and he jus pulled over, the cops didnt give him a ticket or arrest him becuase he went back to the scene were he hit me so they said it wasnt a hit an run, if i would have jus gotten his lisencw plate number then they would have arrested him, bu i wasnt thinking when i got hit and it jus hit me to chase him down

 

i went to the hospital that night, i didnt need any stiches it was just a cut so they gave me a bandage and their foot in my ass and thats it.

just from looking at that picture you weren't rear ended. if you were the back of the car would have been pused in not the quarter panel

looks as if you were going through an intersection and your were clipped

 

i was rear ended i was on a red light waiting for the green and some guy saw me at the last min an turned jus b 4 he hit me goinf at least 40-50 mph

 

that sucks! My 06 was hit exactly 2 months to the day. the repair looks very good, but the rest of the car is mint, and looks better. In the sunlight I can see that something is a slight bit off. the quarter panel has some swirls from wet sanding, and the paint is more rich everywere else. but it only shows slightly in direct sunlight.
The Guy's insurance took care of it 100%
but that is a lot to have to pay for out of pocket.

 

THATS GOOD TO HEAR THE GUY WHO HIT ME HIS INSURANCE ONLY PAYED 80% BECAUSE THEY THOUGHT SOME OF IT WAS MY FAULT, THE GUY WAS HIGH OR DRUNK I DONT NKOW BUT IT WASNT MY FAULT 101% I WAS ON A RED, MY CAR'S REPAIR LOOKS AAWESOME BUT I DO STILL SEE THE PAINTED PARTS SHINE A LIL MORE THAN THE REST OF THE CAR. ITS ALL GOOD THOW IM ENJOYING IT.

It looks like they think you did a swoop and dive move to cause the accident. Your damage is pretty similar to that type of scam accident. I am not saying you did that but that is probably what the adjuster is thinking to reduce what they have to pay out.
Just tell the insurance to quit playing games or you are going to get a lawyer to handle everything. they will probably tell you that it is up to you so just get one and protect yourself. It sounds like they are doing that for themselves.
