Maybe you could get a bank loan for the repairs assuming your credit is good.

I am almost done rebuilding my ride, I was told it would cost me $10k, I've spent $1700 so far. So, believe me... If it can be done, and you can stick it out then do it.

Sorry about your mishap, but u did make a strong case for carring insurance.

what happened to yours? yea its about to go into body shop tmr. for estimate. sigh i feel ppl are gona rip me off. any ideas to prevent this guys? thanks for all the feedback

dude, i feel you
i know how stressful this is

some advice i can give you is, if u havent, not to tell the cops that your guilty
and like others have said, if you end up having to pay for it, get a loan.

wish you luck man

I agree good point nobody brought that up yet. Hopefully who ever you hit did not get seriously injured.

I got t-boned a year ago (3/22/05), ins co. said about $10k worth of damage - drv fender, both doors, airbags, and front frame.

So far for me: both airbags $455 (dealer cost - $1800) eBay, fender $94 from Certifit, front and rear doors $900 (they are same color as the ride ), side mirror $85 (dealer -$225). All thats left is to get some frame rack work done to align the drive door and fender, I estimate about $200 or so.

I will get a paint job once the weather gets a little more settled - $1000 maybe (cousin has a friend that paints...)
and I am back from the dead!

Wow...it looks like a series of unfortunate events and decisions has placed you in a very bad situation. It's a great lesson for everyone who may think about dropping comp and collision and take the risk. Like everyone else here, I dread shelling out the check each month for insurance that...if all goes well...I won't ever get a dime from.

I'm sorry for your loss. It's most likely a lesson leared the hard way with a 20K price tag attached. If it were me, I'd try to sell it salvage and get a new car. There has to be some pretty extensive damage there....so sinking a buch of money into it...only to have a car that will definately show evidence of a major collision...just seems like another bad direction to take.

I will say that you made the writing of my next check for insurance a bit easier for me.

Good luck.

Judging from the picture, I gotta believe there is engine damage. Look how far back the radiator is and the front grill.

Prepare yourself to ride in an Accord 1989 for the next 5 years... what you should have done anyway at the start if you can't afford insurance.

Well we all did stupid things.

There is no way this guy is for real!! I bet his real name is Mobimbi and he lives in Lagos, Nigeria. Prob another typical troll that goes to all car web sites and starts threads about a loss of car, then a few weeks later tries to sell non existant parts to poor suckers like us. I know some of yall are getting tired of people flaming him for his stupidity if this is legit, but for Fuk sake, If you have the means to buy a 38k dollar vehicle with cash and cant afford a 120$ a month insurance payment, you deserve to be publically ridiculed and made fun of. Sorry for your loss if this indeed a real story, but im not buying it. you can post all the pics you want, it didnt happen. BEN

I don't know what to do. We towed it back to the dealer and i cant possibly pay for the price they suggested. Does anyone know a reliable and affordable body shop in NYC.

AFter i fix it what should i do? how much is it worth now? say the repair is 10 g.. ebay? Please help me out!! .. the interior is in perfect condition and wun xeon headlight is fine. i do not have the full report on damages. Thanks guys

Can this be real? God I hope not. What would possess anyone not to purchase insurance? If you can't afford the insurance, don't buy the car, or at least don't admit to it.

Just ran spell/grammar check on this post. I thought I heard my computer laugh.

Dude, I know exactly what you are going through. I totaled my TL in January. $22,000 worth of damage in a accident in the rain on the I-95. By looking at your pictures, your car will be definitely totaled as it looks much worse than mine did. I came out way ahead because I got such a good deal on the car when I bought it. Now i'm in a brand spankin new 06 Nighthawk Black Pear w/Navi. Good luck. If you added any aftermarket stuff, take it.

Couldn't you just blame Acura? I think someone in the forum was doing donuts in a parking lot and blamed the VSA. Couldn't you just say that and see if you can get the dealer to take the car back?

Dont do that...it's REALLY stupid...besides there's a police report and somebody that may sue you for "health problems" related to the wreck.

Just take your loses and learn your lesson.

I'm sorry about what happened and good luck

OMG its been said before. This sounds like BULL. unless you just came from the bottom of a rock, you must know what insurance is. Living in the states requires you to have insurance on EVERYTHING YOU OWN. Again, the better the insurance plan the better it will be for you in the end incase of something bad happening. What in this world would make spend 40k car and not full cover it?

You said that you paid off the car in full in 2 months, meaning that within those 2 months this car was financed. FINANCED means you HAVE TO have FULL COVERAGE. Just doesnt add up.

We will see how this ends up. I dont believe you unless you later on post, fixed car, shows pics and show up recipt of bodyshop.
