Wow, I haven't got your update in past weeks, and thought your car was completely fixed or sold, something like that. Sorry to hear that your car is still under repair. Let us know more progress if possible.

Thanks your pics, I haven't seen this kind of pics since last Sep when Acura showed demo to the press.

Depreciation Compensation

Back when I had an accident, I asked the other driver's insurance to compensate me for depreciation due to the accident. They cut me a check for a percentage of the cost to fix the car. I can't remember the percentage but I think it is a fairly standard number.

My Poor Little TL...

One if the biggest problems was that it took some time to order the parts and get insurance rolling. Then, when they dissassembled the front end they realized that the transmission casing was cracked. It went from the auto body shop to the Acura dealer for about 2 weeks to wait for parts and then insurance held it up at the dealer for a week to get the amount approved. - Cost $3900 to fix / replace the casing. I also wasn't pressuring the auto shop because I told them to take their time to fix it right. Hopefully, I can get some diminished value $ for the car and then trade it in for a 2005 - keeping fingers crossed...

Oh, just a quick "adding insult to injury" - I just got the license plates for my car about 3 weeks ago, they are just sitting on the table waiting... waiting... waiting...

ON ANOTHER SIDE NOTE!! The day I got into the accident, a car swerved out of the way to avoid me and hit the the curve. After I borrowed his cell phone to call my wife, he said "How do you like your car? I'm picking my new TL this weekend."

I live in Florida and recently went through this and you're very unlikey to get DMV when you have front-end damage. If you're claiming this under your insurance there is zero chance for DMV.

I just got my Anthracite repaired (at the Houston ACURA Dealer Body Shop) they took 11 weeks to fix the car ( I was rear-ended) and invoiced $11k...

The car looks brand-new after the fix, but it took too long.
Maybe next time I will take it somewhere else.

I wonder if my Attorney can recover losses for lost value, I'm sueing for medical right now, and went 16 times to therapy already... my neck and back are a lot better.

good luck with your repairs...

Usually you will only get a newer car "totaled" If the frame is bent. Engine, body, that stuff can be fixed (although it will NEVER be the same) But unless the frame is bent out fo shape, it will be pretty hard to have the insurance company total it.
