wow i cant believe people still fall for this. ill sell my tl for 1500. please pay by western union. thanks
but on a real not. there is no way you can find a tl at that price. best deal i seen was a 07 type s for 7500 but it was a legit seller with the car being salvaged and currently not running due to flood.

I remember trying to find a new puppy with my girlfriend and I found a AD and I contacted him. He told me to western union him the money and the dog will be shipped from... AFRICA. They had a companies logo so I contacted them (not them), and they told me this has happened several times and it is a scam. Some lost 1000's by these guys, luckily I wasn't one of them

I guess I am too old school because I cannot fathom why someone would even go to Craig's list or ebay to buy a relatively late model car. 90% of the time it's probably a scam. Any car selling for more than $7-8K, I would get a CPO from a dealer or private seller where the car can be inspected and driven first.

Soon I will have
I usually like to mess with these people a little bit when I know it's a scam. I will ask them what country they are in, then when they tell me, I tell them that it must be an awesome coincidence but I am going to be in that very place on business. "Let's meet up and do the transaction in person", I tell them. Then they usually say well that would be great but, I am going to be in (insert some obscure location) at which point I say, "well that will work to because my relatives live there and I am going to have them meet you". They usually catch on aftera while but its fun to mess with them and let them know they are full of messy dog scat.
Or sometimes when they pull the olf wire me $X.xx amount of money, I tell them sure no problem. But, first to make sure this is 100% legit, I tell them to wire me $25 to make sure they are for real. That usually sends them running.

In my past life I investigated these kinds of online scams. They are easy to spot but it’s also easy to get hooked into the idea that “this time it might be legit and what a great deal on the car!!!” so here’s what to look for:
1 – The asking price for the car is below what a dealer would give you on a TRADE-IN. Let’s be realistic, if someone has a car and needs CASH fast all they have to do is drive to the nearest Acura dealer and sell it to the dealer for a loss. With these scams the asking price is usually well below Kelly Blue Book trade-in.
2 – The seller wants your money$ BEFORE you even get to see the car. The new twist on this is some sort of 3rd party escrow service (like Yahoo Finance) that allegedly ‘holds’ your money$ until you see the car…yeah…sure…
3 – If you ask the seller to meet in person to exchange the money$ for the car the seller will come up with all sorts of reasons why this cannot take place (like “golfjwr” mentioned above).
So, if you see these kinds of scams let’s not waste threads on these forums, instead, contact the ISP that is hosting the scam (in this case Craigslist.com) and notify them so they can remove the ad and maybe even block the scammer from posting in the future ;-)

I once saw an add that had an NSX for $6800.00. Looked sweet and I contact the woman selling it. She said it was her husbands and that they just divorced and he left it to her. She didn't want it. She was local and I asked if I can come over to see it, but she kept saying to transfer her a down payment first. Scam!! Geez, I was ready to jump on that if legit.
