"Cracking" sound when opening driver door.

Is this just me? When I open the driver door, I hear this sort of cracking sound (for lack of a better word).

It's as if there is a thin sheet of ice between the door and the panel that I am breaking each time I open.

It's funny, as a reflex I still look for the non-existant ice everytime it opens and "cracks."

I still have the nice solid close sound but I have a bit of the crackle too...I think its from the plastic surrounding the door panel...no fun, but also no big deal

Agreed, not worth complaining about.

Might be the door hinges, try some white lithium grease or WD-40 to the hinges

To prevent this cracking sound apply a very, very thin coat of vaseline to the liner, better yet buy some gasket grease and do the same thing.

Sorry - but what's a "liner"?
