This might be a stupid question, but would the fog lights grille fit on a tl 04-06 the way is shown in the pict??

you gotta flip them over....
this is how the 04-06 fog light grille is

so after flipping them over....you will have to heavily sand the fog light trim to make it fit 04-06 front bumper !!!

Tripn' is right. The Base TL grill on the '07-'08 look like the picture. The Type S grill is "flipped" down...meaning the corners on the Base TL point up and the corners on the Type S point down.
