I guess every car will give me something to work on at some point and so far of all the things ive read online, it doesnt sound like the TL I want has anything out of the ordinary that will really leave my wallet empty. I would be working endless hours if I had the opportunity, and if it meant I could have a TL in my driveway that much sooner!

As for Mpg.... Well, mines probably gonna be pretty bad cause Ive got a heavy foot... but thats one of the reasons Im buying the car is that i can drive like I do and still get decent enough mileage that my bank account doesnt take a hit!

But, Im only looking to spend $10000-11000 tops on the car, so it will most likely have 105k+ on it already! Maybe by the time I can afford the car, it will be down in price haha
buddy, this car will leave your wallet empty, but you will be looking good though ....my uncle has owned couple german cars now (Audi/BMW/MB) and the maintenance for them is just insane....I know if he probably DIY-ed it might not be as bad, but everytime he leaves the dealership he has a new hole in the pocket....

you can get a 2005 TL with 150K miles for like 10K and all I would do that that point is flush all the fluids and change the rest of the items as it demands

I average around 24 mpg mixed driving with an edge towards highway.

Straight highway I get around 27-29 with a type S. The base guys usually get a little bit better with 30-32 on average highway.

Fuel economy was not a deciding factor for me when purchasing this car though.
I agree with this....I shift at 3000-3200rpm in my Base AT and I end up getting 21-22 all city, 26-27 mixed and 34 all highway

Quick question, before this thread closed, I would like to get my post about maintenance in the 3G garage....should I be calling paypal?

I paid like $8 for the keyhole cover so that it looks like all the other door handles on the outside of the car. Had forgotten about that although not sure if it's maintenance or not since it was an elective purchase.

Everything is relative, so I definitely agree. I once bought a quart of GM syncromesh for my tranny. I then bought 2 more and put all three of them in my car.

I am 23 years old, have a HORRIBLE driving history (had 10 points on my license, license was suspended for 1 month, been involved in 3 accidents with 1 being me at fault) HORRIBLE credit (under 600) and i still found that im only paying 175/month for Geico Insurance with full coverage.

Allstate wanted 484 a month + 800 down. LOL Yea right.

there's like 6 insurance threads going on right now.

its super pointless to debate insurance rates.
some one is always going to be cheaper than you.
