Are you talking about these convex mirrors?

Have you checked with the manufacturer? Are you using the mirror heaters a lot, or not at all? Seems like they shouldn't be turning black with normal use.

I'm guessing Hek's talking about the little round stick on ones, not the multivex. I have the multivex and couldn't be happier with them.

'By the way NDX, they have no effect on the heater, you stick them on and run a bead of clear silicon around the top and sides, the heater should continue to work.

If Hek's got the cheap ones, they are only metallic spray on plastic, they aren't glass. If yours are turning black I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's your window cleaner.

Yep...I bought the cheap one's but I have in all my cars, including the wife's Ody which BTW are also heated mirros and hres' have not fogged/ tarnished . I think I may have turned the heat option once since I bought the Ody to make sure they worked but haven't since...now this is weird, at firts I thought "got a bad one..." but now we are going on #2 in less than a month....

Hey those multivex look awesome...but I'm so used to checking the small mirrors and they have worked fine for all these years I'm not sure what to think...grr...maybe I'll save the reciept next time I buy a pair and see how long they last....thanks for the replies...

Ok kids, here is the mirror, it's kind of blurry but you get the picture, I know South of the border I would have had the Vatican calling me for what appears to be an apparition with a halo ...just kidding... 0
