concealed aftermarket reverse sensors (PICs)

Hey guys, I know you missed me. I missed you

Finally got around to my back up sensors. Rets, u get that camera yet?

anyways, clean install, beautiful job. Works great, and best of all, NO HOLES IN THE BUMPER. Don't even know it is there.

Has 3 lights on the rear center child latch so as you back up you can see visual warning in addition to the audio. Radar works right through bumper!

I took some pics, but have no idea how to host.

Cons and advise is welcomed here:

1) took the 3rd brake light cover off, ended up not needing it, but now the red light comes through on the seems when I brake.

2) the black piece that holds the bumper on the side is kinda bent, even though screws are tight. Seem wont exactly match up.

3) I didn't install how I was supposed to with the brackets, tried adn easy and safe step. Sensors stick out too dar and I ahve to nipples pertruding on the back of the bumper. crappy. Think heating with a blow dryer will let me smooth them out?

Again, all me being stupid, great system and it can be done avoiding my mistakes. Still want a camera though. I am very happy with it overall!

What's the brand name of the sensors you got? I was also wondering how close to the bumper you can sense obstacles. Thanks.

Great pics. Do the sensors not go in Vertically? I see you have them mounted horizontally and had to maybe remove part of the bracing from the bumper.

There seems to be a little space between the 2 steel bracings that maybe it could've gone vertical?

How much did the system cost?

I think you should be able to go to the service dept and say that your brake light is showing.

Nice job

I got them on ebay for $75 (guy misspelled the name), but they retail for like $300. I loved the fact that they work behind the bumper and are not visible. Those holes really bother me on most. They do have to go horizantal, but using the existing bumper bracket was my little trick which kidna didn't work after putting the bumper back on. They give you a bracket that mounts on top of that bumper piece that would of made the install flawless. On the pic with a small black box in the corner by the spare tire, that is the only visual part of the system. Everything else is completely hidden and works great. My friend installed it for me too, not a professional, just handy. Int he back, I will take pics another day, there are 3 almost invisible lights (til they light up) on the rear childseat latch. Green, yellow, and red that work in tandem with the different sounds. Works great cause as you look back you see out the rear window, see the visual aid lights, and hear the sound. Now I need a kit for the front and my rims and mebbe I wont hit anything, MEBBE! At some point when me and Rets has something out we will be introducing the reverse camera. Got some other items I want 1st though and cheaper to boot.

Pretty kewl stuff.

Hmm... noticed your spare donut is punched steel... that's odd... mine is a small mag wheel... wonder if they recently replaced the puch steel with mag?? maybe just on the MT6... hmm.

6MT has a slightly larger spare (17") I believe due to the Brembos.

I wonder how well this sensor to detect the objects on both sides of the rear bmber??

By the way, on your 4th pic, there is a small piece that pop up from the rear bumper. Is that part of the back up system?

UPDATE: Works at angles and corners well, no blind spots that I have found. Different audio chirps for certain distances and visual aids. I LOVE THIS. works great! best of all, invisible, no uglt bumper holes! So happy with it. You can search the web for info, search ROSTRA rear obstacle sensing system.

I have no complaints, quality is great, product is superb. better than stock system, cheaper, adn INVISIBLE! Install for lights was easy, wired it through the child latch and mounted it on the front of the piece. I will take pics tonight so u understand. perfect visibility when u turn to back up. Works great from all angles, LOVE IT! If Rets doesn't mind I will e-mail him pics of the back up lights in action tonight.

Fitment for TL?

I checked the Rosta site and they don't list an application or sytem for any models of Acura or Honda. What model do you have?

Wont break through. It caused the "nipples" because I didn't follow the instructions and tried some short cuts. Wont do it if you instal properly. Besides they aren't noticeable unless you are looking for them and the light has to be right. Body kit will cover them up soon anyways.
