which color to get?
which color to get?
umm w'sup..am new to this forum..and in a few days i planning to get my long awaited TL... but i just dont know what color to get.. i've narrowed it down to black or white. can someone tell me the pros and cons of the colors.. i like both color very much..
Nothing looks better than a clean, shiny Black car. Then nothing looks worse than a dirty black car. I would go with the Black (I did).
I already have a White Nissan and BMW. The White Pearls look sweet, but I needed a change. White also shows the dirt, just not as much as Black.

First thing you need to ask yourself....are you gonna be nuts about the finish on your car?
As poor as the Acura paint is, it makes a black car even more difficult to keep nice. From a distance every car looks nice, but look at a black car close-up and you'd be amazed. Swirls will be immediately detectable on a black car.

Dark colors especially NBP will require constant cleaning and you have to dedicate time for it. Light colors on the other hand are easily maintained with minimum effort. IMO, NBP looks awesome when it's clean, but it's the upkeep that goes by the wayside. Go with your first choice or you'll regret it later on. As downtown said, if Acura had paired Ebony w/WDP, I thnik a number of people would would have opted for it.

My first car was black, and I agree with all of the comments here about dark cars. My TL is white, and I love it.
The important thing here is where do you live? If you live in or near Charlotte, get black...don't want too many white TL's around here...

To me the interior color is more important than the exterior color. It's where you spend the most time when you are with the car ( unless all you want to do is park it and walk around and admire it's lines haha). Don't get me wrong, it's not that the exterior color ISN'T important, it is, but others will see the exterior more than you will and I am buying this car for myself and my eyes......not for others..... If I buy a nice piece of art I'm going to hang it inside my house where I can see it 90% of the time, not on the outside of the house where my neighbours see it more than I do.
If going from this standpoint, chose the interior color you want first, then see what exterior colors are available. If you want an ebony interior then a white exterior is out and your choice is made etc etc. Of course if you don't really have a preference for interior color then this post is null and void
P.S. I have a Black/Camel 05 TL and love the combo.

I have WDP, and i think it looks nice, get compliments on it all the time. it's not a standard white so it has some character. but then again i'm partial to white cars, i guess you just have to go with whatever you like the most, it may affect how often you have to clean but at least you'll be happy with the color.
also, as a sidenote, i always hear people talking about the WDP ext/black int combo. Obviously this is again a personal preference, but i don't like/understand that combination at all. i remember i saw it a lot on the prev gen Type-S's. I guess if you get your windows tinted the black interior goes well with it.

Keep in mind that if you get white, you will wind up with two shades of white; one for the body and a slightly different one for the bumpers. At least that is the way it was on the 04s. The 05s may be different so look very carefully.

I've had a black car for 11 years. Still looks amazing when it's clean.

If you dont mind the Grey or Beige interior go for WHITE
If you keep your car clean, don't mind seeing rock chips and every other nick, get BLACK! It will look amazing when clean, and you'll love looking at it. Unfortunately, this may only be 10-20% of the time. White may not be as flashy, and killer to look at, but it will look good more than 60% of the time. It will also be cooler, and you won't see the scratches as much, etc.
I don't mind the paint variation on the WDP bumpers. Not a big deal IMO.

if i had any other choice, it would be this, that's a great combo.

Keeping it clean is a pain though. At least I can pretend it's some excercise. :P

I have an 04, and the paint mismatch is barely noticeable. Most people don't even see it unless I point it out. Even other TL owners who are aware of the issue were surprised how well it matched. Guess it just depends on the luck of the draw...
