cold start vibrations

I've had my car for about 3 weeks with 500 miles on it. Is it normal to feel soft constant vibrations about 3 seconds apart coming from the engine when starting it up when its been sitting for a while? It goes away after a minute and runs smooth.

I would guess it is the same thing as with the non-type S. When it is cold it runs rough. I think it is due to the emissions controls keeping the engine from spewing too much. Once it has warmed up just a bit the vibrations go away. The colder it is the longer until it smooths out. It's common and may even be written down somewhere in the owners manual. I consider it normal for the car.
