Hi!

The instrument cluster on my TL is acting up (the odometer trip A/B and oil stuff randomly reset and the light turns on or off on its own in the dash, in park the car shows doing 40 mph, fuel jumps down suddenly to empty etc,) and seeing that i am out of warranty i cant have acura replace it for free.
I found a used cluster that i am going to put in but i had a few questions before i do so.
Will the cluster that i put in show the same mileage as the one before ?
if not, how will i be able to tell what my actual mileage is and do i need to report somewhere that i replaced the cluster ?

I was wondering the same thing. Some cars store it in the ECM, some store it in the cluster. and some cars u even have to have it "flashed" (for lack of better words) at the dealer after installing a new (different) cluster.

 

i think the tl does it in the ECM, this is because i got mine replaced, and the mileage was exactly the same ...
