This is the last photo of my car. Catastrophic transmission failure on 30 June 2022.
This is my 2008 TL-S. This was one of my finest cars with >264K miles on it. There as a severe/catastrophic failure with the transaxle on 30 June 2022. This car served me with road trips to FL, TN, MA, GA, MS, NOLA, DC, VA, all over NJ, NY and CT. Hopefully the new owner can repair it and it will live on and treat him well.

You can still remove the old axle and put a new one in, repair the damage if there is any to bodywork. Axle failure is common with accord and TL due rust forming under the rubber damper.
So the male stub of the axle sheered flush off in the tranny? If you remove the opposite axle you can use a 3/8" drive 6" extension thru that hole and punch out the snapped axle with a hammer. Shouldn't be more than a couple hundred dollars to fix.

even if the trans case was damaged by broken axle seems silly to throw in the towel. but whatever. new owner prob happy.
