Clogged Brake Line

Been some questions about sticking brakes, so thought I'd post a recent problem, although not on the TL.
Daughter was on the way home from work in her Maxima, called and complained about the car pulling hard right and a burning smell. Classic sticking brakes. Loaded up tools and headed about 15 minutes from the house. Found right front to be the problem, much hotter than the others. Jacked up the car, tried to push the piston in, no go. Opened the bleeder and got the pads away from the rotor. Drove home using the hand brake.
Once home and in the garage, removed the brake hose and pushed a thin wire through until it stopped at the clog at which point I cut the line in half. As you can see the hose is completely clogged right at the hose brace. Some may split inside and cause a clog, but many just built up corrosion at the brace area:

Not a great picture, but:

This from not changing the fluid? Isn't some fluids now days hydroscopic? Pulling water from the air and rusting the lines from the inside.

I believe all brake fluid is hygroscopic hence the need for the time-based service interval (3 years).

I also recommend that the brake fluid should be flushed every 3 years.
The Maxima was never flushed during it's 16 year, 250,000 mile travel, and it shows!!!!!!

Haha this is a fantastic photo, thanks for sharing. Glad nobody was hurt! Now where are all those people that say you don't need to change brake fluid.

Probably on facebook.

Probably on facebook.

Considering Facebook has 1.5 billion users, you're not wrong.

I was poking fun of the various Acura/TL groups and how much misinformation is spread through there.
