The clear headlights make the car look way better in my opinion. Is that legal in Ca? I know it's not in NY. I want to do mine but I'm wondering if my car would fail inspection if I clear them.

I guess you have to have some sort of amber light on your grill. I asked about it and he was the one who told me it wasn't legal in NY but the cops wouldn't make a big deal about it. I'm just wondering if they would catch something like that at inspection.

Amber lights are a federal law and when you turn on your signal or emergency flashers must glow Amber. There is no law that says your Amber lights have to look Amber while not on.

There are lights out there that look silver and shine Amber but are expensive.

There is a cheaper rout to go by carefully spray painting your current amber lights with a thin coat of High Temp Silver paint. This is what I did. Take a shoe box cut a hole to hold the lamp and to prevent spray on the copper portion lightly spray. Let dry and reassemble. wham bam, your done and you will be satisfied.

These are OK, and I have them on my vehicles and look great. Every once in a while a cop will stare at my vehicle, but once I turn on my signal to make a turn etc., they go onto to taking a bite out of crime with more important things to do than harass me.

ok i got some pics for ya'll.... i will drop them off @ bodyshop soon and will get the car begining of next week and then i'll have more pics.... but here enjoy few, and let the flames begin :flamesuiton:

and yes i changed my mind, first i cut the reflector and painted silver and it didnt look good so then i decided to remove the whole reflector and paint the inside chrome black. I like them so I dont care but still want ur opinion... but ur opinion wont matter now cuz they're done. Once they go on the car, it'll look better IMO, i've seen few CLs, and TLs with blacked out lights.

They seem to be working now. Thanks. I think I would prefer the cleared jdm look, but these would definately look nice on a NBP.

Do you have pictures of the lights in your car?

Also, Vegas TL cleared his turn signals, too. He mentioned something about his amber bulbs having a bluish tint that is visible.
Do you have any information about bulbs?

They make bulbs with a silver coating that blink orange... I think the bulb size is 7440.. You can pick them up at your local auto store...

Whatever color the bulb is coated will reflect inside the headlight..
