i have a WDP 2006 n i was wondering...
what should go with?
does anyone have any blacked out headlights with these bulbs?
http://autolumination.com/switchback.html
which bulb do you recommend?
do you have to take the light apart to install those lights?

Your link isn't working right, but I just got switchback bulbs from Autolumination.com. I cleared out my headlights and discovered that there is an amber bulb too (for the turn signal). I got a white bulb from them that shines white when the headlights are on but flashes amber when you turn on the turn signal.

I did mine on my WDP a few weekends ago using the same switchbacks you posted, the 48-led ones. Like you, I wanted to paint everything black, but I opted to leave the reflective parts silver; it helps project the light from the switchbacks better. I don't have too many pictures because my headlights are crazy dirty from the previous owner, but here's a few:

You have to take the front bumper off and take the headlight assembly apart, paint the insides, put it all back together, hook up the switchbacks, and put everything back. The switchbacks run at a lower ohm than the regular bulbs, resulting in the car thinking a turn signal is out. To fix that issue, you have to get resistors and wire them through the trunk. I'm using 3ohm 55 watt resistors but that didn't help the hyper flashing, therefore I have 4ohm 100 watt resistors on the way. There are a whole bunch of DIY's in the 3G Garage dealing with blacking out headlights and resistors

I can't remember if I got an e-mail from them or not when I placed my order. Give it a few more days and call em.

so i did it and it was a disaster. i had to open and close the driver headlight twice cuz i kept forgetting to put stuff in or i messed up with fingerprints. then the chrome rubbed off for some damn reason and the paint took way too long to dry. i got silicon all over my body and it wont come off and the headlights arent even lined up. its taken over 9 hours to do it right and it didnt even turn out too good.... if you do this; dont do it alone.

Damn man that blows! I had help from another member here on AZ so it wasn't too bad.
It sounds like you may have to go in and redo everything to make sure it's done right.

i think imma just leave it how it is. that was way too much work for me to redo it. if theres a leak, im screwed.

It's going to look like shit if you don't at least reseal them. Condensation is going to get in the light and make your headlights look foggy.

They wouldnt fit flush.. i tried and i tried but they wouldnt sit flush so i just used a lot of silicon.
it looks pretty good despite the trouble i went through.
i hope they dont fog up though =/ im 85% sure they wont

Give it a few days for the silicon to settle. I drove my car in the rain the day after I did them and they both fogged up a little. Later in the week it rained again and they didn't fog up at all.

Actually, if you can, leave it inside as much as possible. The less humidity and temperature change, the better.
