Clear Protective Plastic on TL-S?

When I washed my new TL-S I discovered clear plastic just in front of the rear wheel wells near the bottom edge. They are triangular in shape and about 6 inches long. Should they be there? Should they have been removed for delivery to me? Anyone else have these?

John

I think thats like a clear bra they put on from factory. Little rocks tend to hit that spot when ur driving.

Does anybody know what that round circle is by the license plate (on bumper) of the TL'S?

or check the garage.

That's the location for the pull hook/tow hook for pulling the car our of something when it's stuck (not for towing). Along with your spare tire is what goes in that hole when you pop the cover off.

So under the round circle is a bracket that will support an attachment to pull you? Along with spare tire? what does that mean?

I just checked the garage, and I didn't see anything on the tow hook (which I found odd, so I probably just missed it)...my search was pointless as I obviously didn't use the best key words...sooooo, without being able to provide any useful back up to my answer (pics, technical info, etc.), here it is...yes, if you remove the cap there is a threaded hole that, I'm assuming, is in the frame. In the trunk where your spare tire is located there is a plug, threaded on one side, big round hole on the other. If you screw the plug into the hole, a tow truck driver can hook his wench onto the plug and pull your car up onto the truck.

So, getting back to my question about the clear plastic- everyone leaves this on? All TL's come this way? Or is it just Type-S's?

I've never seen clear plastic on a new car (off the truck). Maybe your dealer had a paint protection package (similar to a clear bra) put on...could also just be the transportation protection and the dealer didn't remove it.
