Clear bra?

Has anyone bought and personally installed the "clear bra"? Am considering this for my car to prevent paint chipping from salt (in the winter) and stones. Just curious to know if I may be getting in over my head in trying to install it myself. Thanks ahead of time for all responses.

I am actually wondering the same - I am thinking about buying the kit from RockBlocker and doing the install - but I am not sure on the difficulty level.

For those of you considering PPF, I would have it professionally installed. The full pro kit from Rockblocker is around $250 and that would be a shame if you screw it up for some reason or another. Check out the Xpel site for installation difficulty rating. Check out the install procedures here or here. I'm not saying it can't be done, but you want the install to look professional.

+2. I agree that having it professionalled is the way to go. If that is something that you cannot afford we can help with technical info.

Hawhyen51 - I will be cruising through town on Friday night, but not stopping. Maybe I will see you on the road. Look for the WRX with RockBlocker logos on it.

Did ya get the shop squared away in AZ? And are the guys at OneStop gonna be doing clearbra installs? That way I can direct folks in the Sacto Area to them for install. Anyway, let me know the next time you're headed this way for install. BTW, I haven't installed my tailight kit yet, been to busy doing other s**t. Take care, Chad.

Many do offer 4-5 years. We take that a step further and offer lifetime warranty as long as you own the vehicle.

every thing for a price... lol for me 4 years is a lifetime... I am more concerned how well the thing protects than how long the warranty is.....

If the thing sucks and you have to replace it several times, etc... is it not worth it since it is a pain in the arse..

Check out this link; 3M ClearBra Test and it should answer your concerns.

I have the 3M ClearBra on my car and its great.
Since I do a lot of highway driving during all seasons, it can protect my car IMO better than nose masks etc. (rocks can eventually slip in under masks casing all sorts of problems)
it's hardly noticeable unless you look really close at it. As for installing it, I would say have it professionally done. I saw how they do it and unless you are VERY well experienced with a cutting knife, you'll have scratches on your car that WILL make you cry LOL

I hear ya totally. If you have 3M film you have 3M and it is all the same no matter how long warranty is. I just thought it worth mentioning for those people that like a safety net. Know what I mean?

The only problem you might run into is a poor install that would constitute replacement.
