Cleaning your headliner

My gf told me about this cleaning product called AWESOME. She told me how it can be used to clean a lot of different things like from your tub, leather to walls in your home. I decided to look on the bottle to see what else it can clean and it said auto headliner. I have parchment and it looked nasty after 8 yrs of owning my car especially my sun visors. I took a terry cloth sprayed some of the solution on my cloth and wiped back and forth and the black color from the fabric started to come off. So i tried the rest of my headliner and it looks good as new. I recommend this product.

Interesting, I was actually looking to clean my headliner as well.

Can you tell me where I can find it?

Thanks!

I don't have any before or after pics of the headliner SORRY LOL, but I have the next best thing. I do have a photo of the actual product. The terry cloth was just green but now it has dirty stains. I cleaned all around the area where you adjust the seat belt. All the fabric around the section on both my driver and passenger side looks almost new. I want to try this on my carpet next.

LOOK HOW DIRTY IT IS

Wouldn't it be pretty easy to get some "after" pics? I mean, the "before" pics is understandable... but the "after" is whatever condition it's in now... Unless I'm missing something?

Are you saying rubbing alcohol is $1 a bottle or are you saying this "awesome all purpose concentrated cleaner"

The later.

FYI, that spray bottle is not actually made to go. That is highly concentrated. According to the bottle, in most applications the dilution is between 20:1 - 50:1 (APC to water). Not sure if the one at the dollar tree is a pre-diluted formula or not.

Did you mix the "Awesome all purpose concentrated cleaner" with any water? Or did you just use it straight out the bottle?

Also did you spray it directly onto the head liner or scrub it back and forth?

or did you spray it onto the towel and scrubbed it back and forth? Details details details please

Just bought a bottle of 20oz awesome cleaner at dollar tree.

They had a 20oz bottle that includes a spray nozzle so you can spray it. They also had a 32oz bottle but didn't come with a spray nozzle, just a regular screw on/off plastic cap.

Both were $1 total. I bought the 20oz just to try it out since it included a spray nozzle.

Now I just need to figure out the dilution ratio I should dilute it to use for the head liner.

The dark spots that you see on my head liner in the "AFTER" photos are the results of my head liner still being slightly damp due to cleaning. Because it's still a little damp it looks dark and almost black like it's still dirty but once it dries up the color goes back to normal.

Yeah. I don't know if this made a difference but earlier this morning my car was covered in dew because of the humidity outside. I wiped the car dry with several microfiber cloths and when I was cleaning the head liner I grabbed a microfiber towel that was still damp from me using it to wipe the car down earlier this morning.

I grabbed the towel that was still damp and sprayed about 2-4 sprays on the microfiber towel in 1 spot (probably about 2-3 inches circumference) and just scrubbed the hell out of the dirty spots on the head liner using back and forth, side to side, and circular motions. I did all I could.

You will quickly notice the microfiber towel turning black and dirty. I highly suggest you use 1 area on the microfiber towel to clean 1 stain on your head liner than quickly use a cleaner area on your microfiber towel to clean another stained spot on your head liner.

If you keep using the same spot on your microfiber I think you'll eventually just end up making your head liner dirty again because you are rubbing it with a dirty section of the microfiber towel.

I also had a 2nd clean dry microfiber towel that I used to attempt to wipe the area down dry after using my damp towel to clean it.

I didn't dilute the mixture at all... Just sprayed it straight out the bottle and onto a damp towel. I was trying to get a response from OP to see if he diluted it or not but never got a reply so I just went to work using 100% concentrate (probably shouldn't, but it still works)

I also cleaned a very small section on my drivers leather seat and this stuff cleaned it to the point that it looked BRAND NEW! I mean I use leather cleaner but the leather cleaner I use doesn't even clean my seats much at all and I'm usually sitting there scrubbing the hell out of it for several minutes. When I cleaned the small section on my drivers seat with this awesome cleaner (about a 4 inch long spot) I immediately notice it being cleaned (in less than 15 seconds) without having to sit there and constantly scrub it... I mean the results were almost instantaneous..

But than I read the bottle and it clearly says "DO NOT USE ON LEATHER!"

This is the leather cleaner I use..
