Exclamation Cleaning the Nav Screen

Anyone have suggestions on what to use to clean the screen? Does Acura recommend anything specific?

Apple Store has a really good one...

I picked up a LCD cleaner from the apple store. it had 2 small bottles and a special cloth to prevent scratching.

The manual suggests just using water or possibly lens cleaner and a soft lint free cloth. I use a glass cleaning cloth and it works well without water. Someone posted on another thread that dryer sheets do a great job of removing smudges.

i use my cleaning duster(compressed air in cans) to clean my aftermarket GPS. luckily i have a remote control for it so my screen doesn't get that dirty

a small tip....you can use a stylus pen that are used for PDA's to lessen the amount of thumb prints on the screen

If I can throw my 2 cents on this one, I have a recommendation. I have used anti-static monitor wipes (made by Falcon) that I use to clean both my laptop screen and the LCD monitor on the back of my digital camera and I think they work great. They come in a canister like baby wipes (70 count). You can probably find them at any computer store in your area.

I use a screen protector from www.strongengineering.com. If you use the one for the TL< you will NEVER have to worry about cleaning it as these things work GREAT!

I think it is part number AN700

Yup, the Strong screen protectors are great. Do a search, there were prior threads about this product. Or just go to the link in the above post and buy one - they're only like $4 apiece. Highly recommended.

A microfiber cloth will work well also. You don't need to use any chemicals or anything. Maybe a bit of water for a spot or something here and there.

You're supposed to use a soft fabric to clean the navi screen. A damp towel will scratch up the screen...

Well! it's a 100% cotton fieldcrest towel. If it does not scratch the clear coat IMHO it will not scratch the nav screen.

The navi screen is much more sensitive than the clearcoat.

How's about the cloth along with Cellular phone? My T610 comes with one, it's ok.

I've had good luck with the Lenscrafter's spray. It's fairly cheap and won't scratch any lens.
