Question Cleaning the Dash

Has anyone found a good way to clean the dash on the TL? I have heard lots of problems about the dashboard "fading".

So far, I have only dusted it with a "Swiffer" and used a damp terry cloth to just give it a wipe.

I don't think it is "leather", so I would not want to use a leather cleaner on it.

I am afraid to use a "vinyl protectant" -- don't want to mess-up the finish.

I was in a shopping center parking lot yesterday, and noticed a 04-05 TL and the dash was all "faded"........looked terrible.

Any comments would be appreciated!

try 303 aerospace protectant or meguiars nxt protectant

...those seem to be the most effective/popular products out there

...better yet, do a search for "faded dash" and decide for yourself

I didn't clean the dash with anything other than a damp terrycloth towel until after the "fading" (I heard it's actually migration of chemical components to the surface) occurred. Then I bought a small bottle of 303 Aerospace, sprayed some on a towel and wiped the dash after cleaning with a damp towel. Dash looked like new, and that was 6 months ago. A little 303 will go a long way, and it's also good for use on the various seals and weatherstrips.

somem members just like to use 303, but i would recommend using a 10:1 water to woolite mixture to first clean the chemical that mitigrates through the vinyl that causes the faded look, then to apply the 303.

I had an 04 and tried the 303 stuff and it looked good for a while but needed retreatment frequently. On my 06 I got the official Acura/Honda Vinyl protectant and it worked better, less gloss (virtually none) and lasted much longer than the 303 stuff. A can is about $6 I hear some dealers will give you can for free if you complain enough.
