I think it looks pretty good, but that's my opinion. If I had a dark colored car I might put them on, but I think with WDP it looks better stock.

here are some instruction
1. clean the middle part of the lower grill with alchole
2. dry it with some clean towel
3. use hair dryer for few sec to the middle part of the lower grill. (just need a little heat to it in order to stick well)
4. apply the strip that you cuted off from the long strip(it uses strong 3M tape)
5. adjust it..
6. Enjoy it

I just recieved the part from hwchien and installed it with his helps. Simple and easy. It definitely makes the dark-color TLs better and in style.

Due to this is very easy and inexpensive, it's worth a try. IMO.

I had the same problem. After sitting in direct sunlight for a while, the strips started to shribble and the plastic film which covers the chrome started to peel off. Wonder if anyone else is having this problem?

No, peeling the film off won't work. It looks even worse. Maybe a different brand of door trim might be better?

For those who have done this mod and have had no problems, could you please post the brand/type of door trim you used. Thanks for the help.

I believe it's just the matter of time to peel off from the front fascia. However, this 3M seems pretty tight. We will know how it goes in this Winter.

If it's off, it's easy to get the replacement, too...

Thanks hwchien.

Can't you just use door edge guard moldings, which you can get at Walmart for about $3.00? Or are the ones you used bigger? I had a piece about a foot long left over and put it in the grill to see how it looked. It fit really tight and I don't think it would have come off by itself.

I have used these on car doors for many years (not my TL, got the factory stuff) and never had a problem with them peeling or coming loose.

Good calls. The chrome strip hwchien talked about is semicylindrical with 3M adhesive on it. If this kind of chrome strip could have chamfer on it or we could make it fluted, I believe this would wrap up the grill tightly and well.

Is that edge guard molding "chrome"? Dark-color is good for the dark-color vehicles.

You can get black or chrome at Walmart. The auto parts stores may have some other colors. These also have adhesive on the inside to keep them stuck tight.

Sorry but I don't care for it. I think the black grille is nice and subtle.
The chrome stripe draws attention to it to much.

SSM/Ebony is good with either one. Your choice says it all.

That's the trim I bought and it looked awful after a couple of days. The problem with the trim is, the plastic film covering the chrome starts to shribble and peel. The trim itself has no problem adhering to the grill.
